Summary
An American multinational corporation that produces software for searching, monitoring and analysing machine-generated big data is looking for a Senior Android Development Engineer. This role is based in Shanghai.
Key responsibilities:
- work closely with the product team to design and develop a variety of features and reusable components
implement the features that use groundbreaking technologies
- write production quality code for a contained complicated feature set or function area
analyse and optimise front-end including back-end codes as well as pursue simplicity, efficiency, reliability and performance
- use independent judgment on existing code, understand its function and change/enhance as needed
- mentor junior level engineers and provide technical guidance as well as engage in design including code review for other team members
Key requirements:
- solid foundation in computer science and strong competences in operating systems, computer networks, data structures, algorithms and software design
- excellent problem solving, collaboration and communication skills
- capability for creative thinking, intellectual and entrepreneurial exploration
- strong coding skills in Java
- two to five years' experience working with Android framework
- extensive knowledge of the Android framework on recent releases, especially activity manager, fragment manager, window - manager, view system and notification manager
- experience in large system coding and debugging skills
- experience in writing unit tests and testable codes
- experience in at least one scripting language, such as JavaScript, Python, Perl, Groovy, Ruby, etc
- proficient in both English and Chinese
- familiar with html5 and client side Javascript
- familiar with server side technologies such as REST and Nodejs
- expert understanding in data analytics, Hadoop, MapReduce, R, visualisation etc
