Role purpose:

To assess and monitor the performance of other Industry Inspector using knowledge and experience as appropriate for complex and demanding situations to ensure service delivery. This role may also include managing projects.

Key Responsibilities:

To perform complex assessments, provide specialist advice/solution and training to internal/external clients, research or development work within agreed parameters including budget and contractual requirements.

To produce the deliverable within the agreed broad parameters in an appropriate format and take responsibility to review other employees' work as requested.

To discuss/present the deliverable with internal/external client at a senior level and be able to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.

Undertake routine administration as required in line with the current processes and procedures.

To assess/recommend the time/value of work to be undertaken for an external client within an agreed fee/cost structure within the commercial aspect of the contract, and issue quotations up to an agreed limit and Lloyds Register’s standard terms and conditions (e.g. commercial notice).

To pursue Continuing Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.

To conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards.

To technically develop other employees as appropriate to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application.

To contribute to internal/external client management as appropriate by acting as point of contact to effectively manage client and LR relationships.

To make recommendations based on external client feedback to assist in service delivery improvement and to help build the business.

To undertake project management where applicable including monitoring project performance against budget and contract requirements.

Assess the risks and work in a safe manner at all times, robustly implementing health and safety rules, instructions and systems and refuse to undertake work that compromises your safety or health.

Report in a timely manner all incidents including near miss and safety observations (NMSO), accidents and injuries and raise any health and safety concerns with your line manager.



Job Specific Technical/Professional Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor degree or other relevant equivalence
- Good command of both written and verbal English
- Good communication skills
- Spirit of team work
- Be familiar with office software
- Self motivated
- Basic knowledge of office work
- Knowledge of the container technical
- Knowledge of the container business/market
- Knowledge of management of inspection service
- NDE qulification
- welding technology
