Customer Service Representative - Catalysts, Adsorbents & Specialties
An excellent career opportunity is currently available for a Customer Service Representative within UOP's Catalysts, Adsorbents & Specialties (CA&S) organization located in Mobile, AL. This position will play a key and integral role in the timely and effective execution of all aspects of the customer order fulfillment (i.e. Presales, Customer Order Administration, Delivery, Invoicing and Accounts Receivables) with the objective of an efficient and effective Revenue Chain Management process for UOP's domestic customers.

Position responsibilities:
Direct participation in pre- sales activity directed towards ensuring executable Contracts/Purchase Orders, which reflect UOP, Customer and applicable governmental requirements.
Preparing and providing Catalyst, Adsorbent & Specialties product sales proposals to customers using standard templates and standard pricing for small quantity potential sales.
Coordinate all aspects of Catalyst, Adsorbent & Specialties Sales Order Entry, and subsequent Sales Order Management (Consistent with appropriate SAP Systems and defined UOP Business/Sales Process requirements).
Manage Business Forecaster Input consistent with Purchase Commitments received and proposals sent out.
Manage all Catalyst, Adsorbent & Specialties sales contracts and blanket orders to ensure customer receives materials and services meeting their expectations from a supply standpoint.
Direct participation in product manufacturing scheduling/planning process related to sales orders entered.
Expedite the delivery of Catalyst, Adsorbent & Specialties Orders from UOP's various manufacturing plants.
Arrange export, transportation & delivery of product in full accordance with Contractual/Purchase Order commitments and ensure On Time to Request (OTTR) compliance.
Complete import / export documentation to ensure compliance to Federal as well as Corporate requirements.
Delivery tracking and provision of a responsive customer interface with regard to order delivery status.
Process/prepare, issue and follow-up of accurate sales invoices.
Prepare and issue precious metal assay certificates and shipping documentation, etc.
Communicate with the customer about the timely delivery of Precious Metals to ensure on time delivery of product.
Use of Sales Force and coordination with the salesperson to ensure current and complete customer data. Input changes to IT help for systems update.
Follow up with customers on issues affecting the collections process when so requested by Credit and Collections group.
Over and above the defined customer specific activities, Customer Service Reps are accountable for Product & Intermediate import/export and Inter-company shipment coordination including:
Liaison with Clearing Agent.
Maintenance of records.
Reconciliation of records with Customs deferment statement.
Warehouse stock and inventory control.
Basic Candidate Requirements:
Minimum Associates Degree is required.
Minimum of 5 years experience in a customer facing sales, customer service, order management or logistics role within a product manufacturing environment is required.
Additional Candidate Requirements:
A bachelor's degree is considered a plus.
A good knowledge of UOP's business and products is ideal.
Experience at working independently is key.
The ability to manage large amounts of data is a plus.
A high level of computer literacy and aptitude is necessary.
Strong organizational, excellent follow-up and communication skills, together with the ability to understand work process flows and work with computers doing detailed analysis and data entry is ideal.
Knowledge of the SAP Sales and Distribution modules is desirable.
The ideal candidate will work well under pressure, have the self-confidence and sensitivity to address difficult customer problems, be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and possess great decision making skill. They must be able to accept responsibility, yet be a strong team player to interface with co-workers to share best practice for mutual training and coaching.
