SDN/NFV Engineering Manager - 752558
Description
In this position, you will join the Intel Communications and Storage Infrastructure Group (CSIG) Software Engineering Division under CSIG/DCG (Datacenter Group). We are looking for someone who wants to see the impact of work making a difference in SDN/NFV business on IA Architecture. Someone who feels passion in constantly seeking improvement and a better ways to solve complex problems, who finds passion for producing the highest quality code as well as leading others to do the same. We are looking for someone with high standards who will push us to be better, and who will take pride in delivering challenging technical solutions at scale. You want to be in the mix technically while providing leadership to your teams.
In this position, you will be managing and leading a software development team focusing on delivering open source SDN/NFV products. You will be responsible for release plans, resources allocation and direction of engineering activities in order to meet schedules, standards, and cost. Driving team members to execute through all phases of a software Product Life Cycle framework, including exploration, planning, development and delivery (and support). Planning and schedule not only of software releases, but also daily tasks, using judgment on a variety of problems, requiring deviation from standard practices. Identification and analysis of problems, solutions proposal. As a manager, you should cultivate and reinforce appropriate group values, norms and behaviors, providing guidance on employee development, performance, and productivity issues.
Qualifications
1.You should possess a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Information Technology degree or equivalent with more than 5 years of experience as software engineering manager. A Master degree is also desirable.
2.Being able to communicate to your team, its role in the success of the business, interpret and communicate relevant trends and issues, developing plans that align to the strategy.
3.Demonstrated experience managing medium size software development teams, have led engineering teams and earned the respect of talented software developers.
4.Be able to work with global team members and stakeholders, and past experience working in a cross-geo project will be a big plus.
5.Program management skills and experience is highly desired.
6.Capable of building a high performing team, including selection, development and deselection, to deliver the results required from your organization. Facilitator of direct and open communication, diversity of opinion, and debate.
7.Experienced in performance management.
8.Demonstrated experience planning large software projects and a track record of delivering software products.
9.Strong results orientation and excellent leadership skills.
10.Hands-on experience in a wide variety of software technologies
11.Experience working under Agile methodologies, such as JIRA
12.This role requires excellent communication skills, being an active listener and observer, plus having excellent writing communication skills both in Chinese and English. Availability to travel internationally is also required.
