Description


The pricing Analyst supports the pricing analysis and pricing approval process to maximize product profitability.


Responsibilities

1. Live the Safety stand, adhere to the safety responsibilities.

· Implement a personal safety action plan and review with leader

· Ensure that all team members are safe both inside and outside office in the course of carrying out work related activities


2. Support on Pricing Strategy

· Support a holistic strategic framework and action plans to provide clear guidance to the commercial organization on pricing and discount structure, price differential models by market, segment, product, production location etc

· Support policy and procedures for the Region to enable effective execution and to monitor compliance with the framework and relevant guidance


3. Competitive Intelligence and Analysis

· Partner with the Commercial and Marketing teams to collect information on competitive actions, prices, discounts, rebates etc

· Support the market and industry movements in the Region by working closely with Commercial team and selected distributors

· Actively support the negotiation process with end-customers or bidding process to gain first hand insights into the market dynamic

· Participate in the development of a robust database that contains data collected for analytical and sharing purposes

4. Pricing and Margin Management

· Work with Customer Service team to ensure the latest price list is maintained in the system

· Participate in regular reviews to ensure data integrity and accuracy

· Work with the Costing team to gain insights into product Direct Costs to ensure the Contribution Margin is appropriately managed

· Work with the Financial Planning & Analysis team to evaluate Special Price Requests (SPR) and make recommendations to the Finance Director for approval


5. Reporting and Analysis

· Support the development of monthly price trend and margin analysis by Business Unit and by product category and individual Business Units

· Partner with the Financial Planning & Analysis team to enhance current analytical reports

· Prepare reports for various level and functions such and NLT, Commercial, Marketing, Finance etc on a regular and ad hoc basis

6. Budget and Forecast

· Participate in the preparation of annual budget on pricing, rebates and discounts by product category (Gross Sales to Net Sales portion of the P&L)

· Partner with the Financial Planning & Analysis and Commercial teams to prepare monthly rolling forecast and annual outlook

· Partner with the Financial Planning & Analysis to improve overall business forecast accuracy (Gross Sales to Net Sales portion of the P&L)



7. KPI and Business Performance Tracking

· Participate in the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) with the Financial Planning & Analysis team to track and support the execution of pricing and promotion strategies.

· Support to develop corrective action plans for gaps identified with the Commercial and Marketing team

· Follow through to ensure actions are taken for a full closure of gaps / issues identified

· Support benchmarking among internal and external targets and to lead best practice sharing in the Region



8. Compliance and Continuous Improvements

· Ensure full compliance of the relevant accounting principles such as the US and China GAAP, policies and procedures and all OC internal requirements

· Ensure proper compliance with all OC policies and procedures for all relevant financial transactions in particular with regards to the Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) rules and Antitrust lawsIdentify and report relevant risks on a timely manner to enable adequate actions to be taken to protect the company’s interests

· Ensure proper maintenance of audit trail for documentations and to recommend any improvements to the current system



9. Interface with internal and external stakeholders

· Coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders such as Business Unit Leaders, Commercial, Marketing, Customer Service, IT and other members in the Finance team etc

· Coordinate effectively with external stakeholders such as distributors, direct customers, consultants, agencies etc

· Work with internal teams to enforce compliance on existing corporate and group accounting policies, guidelines, and procedures



10. Other Tasks or Projects Assigned by the Functional Leader or the Company


Job Requirements


Experiences:

· Bachelor degree or above in Finance and Accounting is preferred

· Years relative experience in pricing analysis, competitive data collection and analysis, commercial pricing negotiations

· Experience in both consumer and industrial products will be an added advantage

· Experiences in working in a cross-cultural team is an advantage

Knowledge and Abilities:

· Excellent commercial sense and business acumen

· Familiar with various principles such as the Game Theory and pricing strategies such as cost-plus pricing, market-oriented pricing, dynamic pricing etc

· Hands-on experience working closely with the Commercial teams and distributors / customers

· Excellent customers focused, internal and external alike

· Excellent communication skills both Chinese and English

· Excellent interpersonal skills especially working with the Commercial and Marketing teams
