The Position

Reporting to Head of Proposals (Asia).

Main responsibilities will comprise the following:

The Proposal Manager will be responsible for the preparation and submission of tenders, as assigned by the Head of Proposals, for the design and construction of municipal water, waste water, and sludge treatment plants. The role involves the co-ordination of the work of the engineering department, cost estimation department, commercial department, head office tax and legal specialists, and external partners. In addition to this co-ordination, the Proposal Manager is required to build the tender price and the overall tender submission.

Projects will be located mostly within mainland China, and to a lesser extent in South East Asia. Some travelling will be required in order to co-ordinate with our external partners and Clients.

For each proposal, the Proposal Manager will need to manage the work of the team specifically assigned to the project.


Candidate Profile

Education:

Bachelors Degree in an Engineering Discipline such as Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering.

Experience:
? 8-10 years professional working experience.
? 5 years experience within the field of contracting in the municipal water industry, either in engineering design, project management, or bid management.
? Experience of past involvement in several large scale projects (contract value > 50m RMB).
? Some international exposure would be a plus.
? Some working experience and familiarity with the basic principles of Contracts in general, and preferably construction Contracts.
Skills:
? Ability to lead and organize a small team.
? Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
? Good verbal and written English and Chinese.
? Competency in the use of Microsoft Project (preferred), and Excel (essential).
