Global Risk
Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, operational, credit, pension, insurance, compliance, regulatory, market, reputation and geopolitical risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.
In this role, you will:
Impact on the Business/Function
-Assisting FCC CMB Lead to ensure proactive approach is taken to identification of financial crime risk change and potential impacts on CMB Business Model in region
-Development and continuous review for appropriateness of framework to monitor financial crime developments impacting on CMB in region
-Assisting FCC CMB Lead to drive the regional implementation plans to quantify impacts and implement actions to address, manage and mitigate impacts of regulatory changes on Global CMB.
-Develop and implement as required AML, CTF, counter proliferation, anti-bribery/anti-corruption and sanctions policies and systems that ensure that CMB’s exposure to financial crime and reputational risks is managed, in a practical and effective manner, including efficient and reasonable deployment of resources and an understanding of the business operations and needs.
-Establishes and implement global standards and strategic policies in region to ensure CMB’s exposure to current risks and emerging arising risk is managed appropriately, in a commercially focused and practical manner
-Works closely with relevant China Financial Intelligence Unit and Business Financial Intelligence Units to manage Risk and Compliance matters
-Assisting FCC CMB Lead to reviews and assists in the effective deployment of the Financial Crime Compliance Assurance function in the region

Customers / Stakeholders
-Liaise with relevant regional stakeholders within China CMB, other Global Business and Functional teams to provide CMB expertise on all FCC matters
-Interact with regulators and industry bodies on CMB Financial Crime related matters,
-Ensure the appropriate timely and relevant risk information is provided to Regional Head of CMB FCC and CMB management, Risk Management Committee and CMB Risk Committee
-Assisting FCC CMB Lead on leadership of resources, people, process and change management to support a customer focus business operations.

Leadership & Teamwork
-Strong communication and working relationship within China CMB, Regional CMB, other Risk Disciplines, Functions and Global Businesses to ensure implementation of new disciplines.
-Assisting FCC CMB Lead to lead, motivate and develop an effective Regional team through communication, cultivate an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand and improves employee engagement.
-Share best practice with group offices and other business lines with China
-Assisting FCC CMB Lead to take a hands-on approach to coaching with regular & productive use of Personal Development Plans and appropriate follow up.
-Assisting FCC CMB Lead to ensure development activities are a core priority and enable all team members to take reasonable time for learning and developmental activities.
-Assisting FCC CMB Lead to ensure the team is resourced to headcount plan, sufficient to meet the demands and opportunities of the business.
-Assisting FCC CMB Lead to maintain and develop positive and professional working relationships with senior business managers at the Group, Regional and Country levels.

Operational Effectiveness & Control
-Focus on aligning the CMB operating practices with changes in Global Financial Crime Standards and regulatory risk, and ensure that CMB Financial Crime Compliance Framework remains appropriate.
-Ensure all GSM, FIMs, BIMs and dispensations, etc. are updated for changes in Regulation and impacts on business.
-Assisting FCC CMB Lead to resolve any/all identified issues promptly, and escalates concerns to Regional Head of CMB FCC and other managers as appropriate to ensure timely awareness of any material concerns.
-Maintain and observe all HSBC control standards and implement and observe the Group Compliance Policy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators.
-Maintain awareness of operational risk within assigned portfolio and minimize the likelihood of it occurring including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting.
-Assisting FCC CMB Lead on all regulatory and compliance matters as they related to CMB FCC and the management of operational risk.

Qualifications
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
-Bachelor degree or above, law degree preferred.
-Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, with experience of dealing with executives at all levels including the capacity to articulate the case for risk management and policy in the language of business.
-Ability to develop practical, cost effective solutions to complex issues.
-6 – 8 years experience in Compliance Risk Management together with business management, preferably from a Compliance team, frontline role in CMB, GTRF or a law firm.
-Experience of dealing with regulatory matters and confident interaction with Regulators.
-Experience of interpreting and analysing a large volume of information and / or data and provide succinct summary for management.
-Experience of working within a matrixed environment preferred including reporting internationally.
-Ability to lead change, contributing to joining up with the other teams in Risk and Business within China.
-Fluent written and spoken English and Mandarin.
