Global Operations Finance, the GE China Corporate Finance CoE team, with a scale of more than 500 people, was established in May 2012. Aiming to bring together a team of excellence worldwide. GOF builds and executes world-class processes across the company ( including source to pay, fixed assets, record-to-report, invoice-to-cash, customs, payroll, T&L, stat-to-tax) to better serve GE business operations in and beyond China.
Role Summary/Purpose
As the Customs Analyst you will be on the operational team and responsible for import/export and logistics coordination. Act as a customs broker. Process inventory, brokerage, and freight invoices for payment.
Essential Responsibilities
• Research and analysis the updated China Customs regulations and policies
• Support center of excellence (CoE) leader to manage China import an export transaction consultancy at Free trade zone
• Initiate & lead programs and projects to take advantage of simply and effective business model and others duty-savings opportunities, e.g. ITC (International Trade Control), CCC (China Compulsory Certificate) program, FTA (Free Trade Agreement), etc.
• Audit related businesses in China FTZ for import & export transactions to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and provide regular reporting of compliance metrics
• Provide guidance, assistance and advice to business in China FTZ in support of their import and export operations and in solving import and export regulatory problems
• Drive to run China Customs broker consolidation program, screening & manage Customs brokers due diligence project to comply with China import &export regulations and GE integrity policy
• Organize education and training as necessary to business personnel, suppliers and customers to support compliance and duty-saving programs
• Act as liaison to local and regional Customs officials in resolving government inquiries and audits
Qualifications/Requirements
• Good Bachelors degrees in economics or business
• Preferably with more than 4 years of relevant working experience in Customs/Free trade zone-related operations or consultancy
• Demonstrated understanding of Customs / trade compliance & logistics processes. Especially familiar with free trade zone, bonded logistics park, processing trade and electronic industrial HS Code classification.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, writing, interpersonal and communication skills
• Self-starter, creative, exhibits ownership, initiative, clear thinker and able to work as a team
• Highly motivated, proactive with strong leadership, growth potential, be willing to stretch and results oriented.
• Ability to work in an autonomous environment
• Excellent on Microsoft PC application
• Good Mandarin and English communication skills
