Product Management Director, China - Metering solution, T&D, Power, Energy Industry

As a family owned company with more than 100 years history, it has been designing and manufacturing high quality electric products in more than 30 countries. Headquarter based in Europe, the company had access to a highly skilled workforce and distribution system throughout the world.
The client company helps utilities manage energy better. As one of the largest global player with one of the broadest portfolios of products and services in the industry, its products and solutions empower utilities and consumers to improve their energy efficiency, reduce their costs.
To better serve customers in China, the client established its China Company in 1997, fully responsible for R&D, Sales and Engineering Service of its products in China. Now it has a plant in Guangdong Province with about 250 people and sales & marketing offices in different cities.

Position Description
-Business Development
--Develop a product roadmap that complements THE COMPAY's global and local product vision
--Work closely with Customer Organization to ensure business growth in key market segments by identifying and responding to local marketing needs and opportunities
--Work closely with R&D to ensure products are developed in the direction of business strategy.
--Lead the strategic product marketing and management programs to ensure the competitive positioning of the company's product offerings particularly against local competitors
--Strategically manage the integrated marketing communications program including relevant marketing promotions, trade shows and exhibitions and revenue initiatives for the organization
--Actively work with other functions on issues that affect development of the THE COMPAY business including technology, cost trends, loading, product development, quality issues etc.
--Drive marketing communications to ensure best in class collateral for campaigns in print, electronic and web based media
--Liaise proactively with Sales and Operations to develop sales forecasts and inventory management strategies
-Relationship Building
--Represent the company with industry stakeholders to provide a professional and credible image
-Product Cycle Management
--Provide direction for mapping products through their respective life cycles to ensure achievement of the company's overall product vision and strategy
--Develop, implement and monitor the broad policies for development of new products and services and plans for China
--Undertake the branding of new products and services to ensure they meet the overall company strategic direction
--Run beta and pilot programs with early stage products and samples
--Lead strategic planning and implementation of product discontinuation
-Market Intelligence
--Liaise with CEO China on issues concerning marketing and product management with specific focus on market requirements, market share, market volume, price levels, orders and anticipated orders, resources, outlook, promotions, competitor activity
--Gather intelligence regarding products and services, competitors and vendors in the market and provide solutions for THE COMPAY products and services to penetrate these markets
-People Management
--Complete The company people management system processes for direct reports including performance feedback and appraisal, annual objective setting, salary planning, training and development initiatives and talent management
Position Requirements
-Solid experience in both strategic marketing and product management (Strategic Marketing is definite must have, product management experience is great to have, but can also be developed at THE COMPAY)
-Familiar with China market and prefer from measurement solutions industry, or solid experience with T&D field
-Strong capability to reach out to the market, and work closely with CEO to initiative and roll out a "go to market" strategy; work closely with R&D team to develop product that can penetrate to mid to low end market in China and being competitive compare to other local players
-Effective communication skill in both Chinese and English; ability to work effectively with regional and global peers
-Strong people management skill but same time able to roll up sleeve
Qualifications
-Relevant tertiary qualification in business or marketing related discipline. A technically biased undergraduate degree would be well regarded.
-Marketing and brand management at a senior level (5-8 years)
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
-Strong leadership track record of delivering results in a B2B focused environment;
-Commercial astuteness-significant commercial business experience and knowledge;
-Thorough knowledge of marketing fundamentals, value proposition development, new offer development, customer service, market and competitive analyses and the ability to implement integrate campaigns into all market segments
-A practical, demonstrable knowledge of developing and translating product positioning to different audiences;
-Personal presence, strong influencing skills and outstanding communication skills;
-The ability to lead, motivate and energies people to co-operate and perform to well define action plans;
-Change management-ability to operate in dynamic environment and act as agent of change within The company and strong influencer within client organizations
