Essential Responsibilities

As a senior and integral member of the GEHC Greater China Controllership, the incumbent will work with the Global and the Asia Controllers to provide technical controllership leadership and guidance to both finance and operations leaders for accounting issues through GE Healthcare’s global operations and also for the 3 regions of GEHC Greater China (Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan). This position will report to the GEHC Greater China Controller and will also have strong interaction with the GEHC Greater China CFO, Controllers and Operations. Specifically this role will have responsibility to: • Support Greater China Regional Finance Teams (Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan) and operations leaders/teams to understand financial/accounting implications of transactions and other matters by providing GE expertise and technical accounting guidance for specific areas • Research and advise on complex technical accounting issues as necessary • Monitor, interpret and communicate information regarding new developments in accounting standards and other regulatory rulings with an impact on the business. Assist with the implementation of new standards • Ensure complete documentation for all accounting conclusions within Local Statutory, GE Corporate & Business practices, policies & requirements, and that such records are maintained in timely, accurate and complete fashion • Assist the Global Consolidation & Reporting team in the timely reporting of GE Healthcare’s financial results each quarter to GE Corporate, ensuring technical accounting conclusions are reflected in the financial results • Drive consistent and effective policies and procedures during monthly/quarterly close process including account reconciliations, GE Corporate Data Request (DR) submissions, representation letters and review of GE Healthcare disclosures in GE Company filings. • Partner with GE Corporate Audit Staff and Finance Managers for internal GE accounting reviews. Drive closure of open audit issues and proactively work to prevent future issues / manage risk. • Develop and deliver ongoing training on various accounting topics to a variety of business constituents • Drive GE and GEHC corporate initiatives as relevant to technical areas • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 requirements as necessary • Reports certain relevant metrics to the CFO and Global Controller • Perform financial analysis of balance sheet accounts to ensure compliance, integrity of account balances/financial reporting and effectiveness of business processes • Work closely with financial and operational leadership to pro-actively assess and manage accounting risk • Monitor & Drive GE and GEHC corporate initiatives, simplification projects and integration projects. Provide leadership on these projects; • Perform ad hoc special projects.

Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements: (Basic Qualifications):• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance• Minimum 7 years progressive accounting or finance experience• Demonstrated proficiency in U.S. GAAP, local GAAP and authoritative accounting literature (i.e. FASB pronouncements)• Sound understanding of global and local accounting process and transactional flows• Strong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change.• Clear thinking / problem solving: successfully led cross-functional projects/process improvement within operations/finance function involving process improvement; able to grasp new ideas quickly.• Excellent communication skills: experience working across multiple organizational levels (including executive level), functions and regions; able to clearly communicate complex financial information in an easy to understand manner; able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing.• Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others• Confidence / Assertiveness: strong influencing skills across business functions; confidence to approach business leaders with difficult messages and defend position; for example, work closely with business leaders to achieve business objectives while driving controllership/GE Values• Experience working in Multinational Company (MNC) business environment with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows• Demonstrated ability to lead in a team environment and succeed in a matrix environment• Adaptable/flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situationsDesired: (Desired Characteristics)• CPA or equivalent designation strongly preferred; or demonstrated technical accounting skills• Trained and/or certified in process improvement methodology such as LEAN or Six Sigma• Solid PC skills: experience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: Oracle, COGNOS, Business Objects, etc.), strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation (i.e. pivot tables, VLookup, & Macros).
