Purpose of the Job
To support the Company Value Retailer concept via assuring delivery to its customers of a consistent standard of quality that meets the Company's safety expectations at all times.
To apply best market practice and knowledge in terms of procedures within the supply chain in order to control, assess and monitor the safety standards of product.
To constantly increase the level of safety of product so that it remains in-line with, or if so defined, ahead of EU Legislation.
Main Objectives
To ensure the mandatory; physical and chemical testing requirements are carried out on all styles and are confirmed as meeting our standards.
To work closely with the existing supply base in order to ensure constant improvement in all aspects of product safety.
To coordinate the activities of the Product Safety Laboratory Technicians within their geographical areas.
To implement all product safety processes along the supply chain in order to achieve the requirement of - "no product safety issues in our stores".
To define a "Risk Assessment Process" per supplier to be built into the supplier auditing procedure.
To support with Product Safety Education and Product Safety reviews and to ensure the provision of training to all stakeholders, both internal and external.
To participate in the review of all product lines to identify potential product safety risks and recommend solutions prior to manufacture.
Keep abreast of the new international standards and testing methods regarding to the products. Provide proposal to updating the requirements of company's manual.
Reports: - Product Safety Laboratory Technician
Reports to: - Regional Product Safety Manager
Skills / Requirements
Degree Holder or above in chemistry or relevant subject.
Minimum 8 years' relevant testing experience and knowledge with at least 3 years managerial level.
Must familiar to international testing standards and country regulations.
Business acumen, good understanding of various manufacturing processes.
Good interpersonal skill and management sense.
Fluent in English and related local language speaking and writing.
Travel in Asia when required.
