Title: Construction Manager
Location: Chengdu, Sichuan, China

Purpose:
The Construction Manager or site supervisor will be responsible to the Project Manager for delivery of allocated projects during construction period.

Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Reports internally to Project Managers and assists the Project Manager in meetings at JV Shell's engineering and stakeholders' level.
2. Manages the Pre-Construction review meetings with contractor. Provides required advice on design issues arising during construction.
3. Reviews contract security and insurances. Implement site HSSE policy, WPS and JSA, carries out safety inspections during construction, document findings and implements recommendations for improvement. Where safety standards are not compliant takes strong measures to achieve compliance. (Note: HSSE at site is a CM's role)
4. Inspect for construction quality and quantity according to the contract, certifying payments, authorising extension of time and variations (under delegation), managing provision of design information to clarify documentation.
5. Co-ordinate with subcontractors and JV Shell's related departments before and during construction.
6. Organises and participates in site meetings, reviews inspection schedule, completes inspection checklists and witnesses commissioning testing of systems.
7. Reviews construction schedules, monitors and reports on the progress of work to the Project Manager.
8. Collates and forwards data for entry into SKM reporting systems. Prepares weekly reports on time, cost and HSSE for the Project Manager and JV Shell Engineering Manager.
9. Inspects site with JV Shell's Engineering, Sales and stakeholders, completes inspection checklist and co-ordinates rectification of defects.
10. Co-ordinates authority inspections. Prepare handover document including as built drawings and essential services information for the project managers to issue the certificate of practical completion.
11. Undertakes regular and planned training modules required by SKM's competency program. The program will include safety management, design standards application, construction quality, program scheduling and control, contractor influencing and authority communications.

Requirement:
1. Diploma above education background with a major in Civil Engineering, Construction Management and so on.
2. Above 5 years working experience in related industry.
3. Good team player, ethic.
4. Fluent written and oral English communication skill.
