Position Summary
Amazon China is looking for a talented and bright financial leader to be the Senior Finance Manager- Finance & Business Analysis for the key categories. These businesses serve a vital role in Amazon's commitment to offering customers the best product selection, top notch customer experience and the lowest possible prices.
This role, reporting to Finance Director - Amazon China retail, will be responsible for the categories’ financial planning, forecasts, and providing business analysis to the retail Category Management.
As the finance leader of the company rolling forecast process (e.g. monthly Risk and Opportunity, Quarterly Business review, Annual planning, the role also ensures that the internal financial planning process is fully integrated with other Retail operation processes (e.g. categories’ volume forecasting, margin forecasting and event planning process etc,) to support a fact based /transparent business discussion across many categories and also meet the requirements from the US Headquarter.
This role will be a regular member of Weekly Business Review (WBR) with the US Headquarter, where all business topics are discussed and aligned across many different teams e.g. marketing, category management, technical team, and supply chain team.
The role provides the financial assessments on key business investments in the areas of business events and strategic business initiatives etc, aiming to build a strong and sustainable business in China.
Amazon China is a fast growing business in a very dynamic environment. The role will be a strong and inspirational leader who is known for hiring, developing and retaining the best talents. At the same time, he or she is expected to develop a strong financial training platform to provide the intensive finance planning and business analysis coach to all levels of Category managements.
The right individual will have solid business judgment, strong controllership focus, and the capability to drive a fast paced organization to the right results with a focused and pragmatic approach to the business.
Objectives
Key Strategic Objectives
The scope for this Senior Finance Manager includes the following:
- Analyze opportunities and develop financial models for strategies and business plans to grow Retail business in China.
- Develop key metrics and performance indicators to measure overall financial performance and provide foundation for continuous improvement.
- Establish an internal financial planning process to enhance financial and business analysis for the key business decisions throughout all corporate planning processes, e.g. Annual planning, Monthly Risks & Opportunities etc.
- Provide financial insights for periodic business reviews (Weekly Business Review) with the category management and key stakeholders from all aspects of running Retail business.
- Provide constant financial guidance to enhance the cost efficiency and process effectively.
- Work with Legal and Tax department on service contracts and work with Category teams to enhance the fee/margin structure.
- Partner with Retail management teams to gather financial insights of key competitors to provide input to the Amazon’s business models.
- Influence and evangelize with Senior Finance leadership in our Retail, Marketplace and Operations organizations.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a commercially oriented senior manager with 8+ years of Finance/business planning& analysis experience in a multinational organization. The right individual will have consistently demonstrated the ability to influence senior business leaders through effective communication, logical reasoning and presentation of the alternatives. This individual will also have rich experience of implementing a transparent and integrated planning and analysis platforms which will allow a rich business discussion/alignment among many business teams, in a scalable and efficient manner. He or she will also have high interested to act as a coach to build the sustainable world-class teams.
Education/Experience
1. MBA or Master’s degree desired
2. A strong background of business development , or financial partner to the business.
3. International experience a plus
