职位描述

Purpose:

Manage, supervise and provide leadership for all aspects of the Damco Branch activities in the Chongqing branch, driving implementation of commercial and operational strategies across SCM/OCE/AIR/LSS products and clients. Lead and manage sales activities in office.

As an independent organization optimize and develop the Damco Chongqing branch, including all aspects of sales, operation, customer service, client relations, process & productivity, finance and human resources.

Ensure constant evolution of both business and the people in the branch, with a strong foundation in APMM group values.

Ensure delivery of the Damco strategies in the branch.

Ensure organizational scalability to enable continued fast growth in Damco.

Be the voice of Damco in the local market, and strive to develop and enhance excellent relations to all relevant government entities, including, but not limited to, MOC, MOFTEC and local provincial government.



Principal Accountabilities

Management

- Reinforce APMM culture, values and reputation, and ensure compliance with APMM Group policies - lead by example

- Provide clear direction and lead all Damco activities in the Branch through the establishment and execution of a solid Branch-level development Plan

- Provide input to and challenge the NAS Damco strategies, objectives and all their key elements

Develop recommendation for branch Damco strategy, strategic plan, budgets and targets to the cluster manager of Damco supporting product specific profitability and ensuring alignment with Damco NAS strategy

- As member of the cluster management team, contribute with

Candid, direct and honest input, suggestions and feedback to strategy and management decisions

Development of strategies, objectives, etc for NAS Damco organisation

Growing and maintaining a strong team spirit in the management team

Based on a continuous improvement principle ensure a constant development of sales and operational processes, that processes are optimised and that best practices are actively promoted in NAS and with support from NAS management team promoted globally.

- Provide strong leadership on Damco throughout the Branch.

Human Resources

- Build a strong management team by recruiting and retaining DAMCO management talent, as required by business

- Implement best practices, policies, guidelines and standards for Damco in branch and provide input to development of same to Cluster manager.

- Recommend appointments and dismissals of own direct reports to Cluster manager

- Manage structure and staff the Damco Branches according to business needs and objectives, including meeting organisation constellation targets.

- Support staff rotation as a development tool, rotating within the Damco Branches, as well as ensure take in rotated employees from other branches and corporate.

- Organise, coach, challenge, develop and remunerate all direct reports

- Create development plans for all direct reports and key people in the Branches. Ensure that this approach is being implemented on all levels in the branches.

- Ensure high performers and top talents are sufficiently recognized and rewarded - psychologically and financially.

Sales

- Ensure Branch Sales targets are met through a robust sales plan, SMART targets and sales resources.

- Support CEN and NAS sales strategy and provide improvement proposals to same on a running basis.

- Lead and develop a resourceful and strong sales team able to deliver on targets with devilment potential.

- Provide regular updates on branches market conditions and provide anticipated developments for same in order to promote proactive market approach.

- Actively provide sales leadership to sub-Branches and ensure synergies and successes are achieved and reported to cluster manager.

Operation

- Ensure the Branches product-level delivery platform meets both customers and Product Managers' expectations - both short- and long-term and both in terms of scalability and effectiveness

- Ensure an operational structure and organisation is in place in branches to deliver optimal operational costs and service levels - both directly and indirectly.

- Ensure capacity is secured timely, at the best best-in-market prices for each logistics product with proper service contracts are in place with all service providers, with prices specifically linked to clear service levels and success criteria

- Understand capacity needs and validate against Products' needs and expectations, and contract required capacity

- Manage Damco SCM/OCE/AIR/ capacity within the framework provided by the respective Damco Ocean and Air Product Managers

- Monitor and assess suppliers performance against specific Damco specified service levels/requirements; drive corrective action and cost adjustments, where required

- Proactively drive variable unit costs down in collaboration with our suppliers to achieve best-in-market variable unit costs

- Deliver targeted variable unit cost reductions, and monitor branch level cost of OPS organisation as percentage of total variable costs

- With support from P&P establish structure and procedures for the Logistics Service Delivery activities carried out within the Damco Branches; suggest business automation requirements

- Ensure health, safety, security and environment standards meet regulatory requirements and client needs

Ensure our targets of zero accidents or regulatory violations are met through proactive awareness and guidelines

Ensure all Damco used facilities are inspected regularly and at least yearly, and that it is validated that they in every respect meet MDAMCO standards / requirements, and where this is not the case, ensure that prompt corrective action is taken

Ensure that Damco remains fully C-TPAT compliant in all facilities

Ensure suppliers are security compliant

Customer Service

- Ensure customer service intimacy by having superior customer service in the Chongqing branch;

Be recognised externally and internally as co-operative because of reliable and responsive customer service;

Drive customer services to deliver it right the first time; ensure adequately customer service training is in place.

Set targets, ensure sufficient measurement and drive continuous improvements to customer service level ensuring Damco is constantly developing to meet our customer's requirements at destination and at origin.

Develop innovative ideas for CUS improvement projects, drive, take ownership and ensure execution.

- Proactively interact with all clients, vendors and destinations to demonstrate our service is best value for money

Ensure SOP's are adhered to and best practices are shared across customer service.

Engage clients, vendors and destination colleagues up-front and up-right to ensure our professional customer service earns us the continued loyalty of our clients/vendors and colleagues

Where inappropriate service has been rendered, take immediate corrective action, and ensure communication with vendor, client and suppliers is clear, effective and timely

- Manage statements, billing, freight collections, uniform invoicing and other service delivery for Damco clients, ensuring that service meets KPI's

- Ensure proper CUS related risk management plans are in place and executed when circumstances dictates.

Process & Productivity

- Process

Build a process and productivity mind-set, drive process improvements through process review and optimization using six sigma/lean methodologies to achieve and leverage fixed cost unit cost reduction

Share branch's best process practices with other branches/clusters

Establish a branch mind-set to support and facilitate second-to-none data quality

- Productivity

Achieve best-in-class branch productivity by driving constant process optimization and alignment across products.

Ensure our cost-to-serve is well understood and managed to achieve best-in-class fixed unit costs; deliver targeted fixed unit cost reductions

- Automation

Make recommendation to the cluster team for branch level automation, where feasible and economical

Drive e-commerce adoption amongst clients and vendors within Branches focusing on automating interactions, where feasible and economical

- Manage counter operation, its inherent risks, processes and demonstrate clear user satisfaction

Finance

- Constantly optimise Branch profitability and deliver financial objectives incl. increased LSS sales and reduction of variable and fixed costs

- Monitor operating performance against targets; ensure full year estimates for the Branch are updated regularly, and developments of significance are reported

- Initiate remedial actions as necessary and timely to achieve relevant impact

- Support product management and Commercial Manager on Branch specific profitability issues

- Manage account receivables for the Branch and ensure adherence to corporate/global credit policies. Always strive to minimise credit days and outstanding.

- Establish relevant and sufficient procedures between the Finance and Execution organisations to enable effective cost and income control.
