Responsibilities:

1. Facilitating DFM reviews with suppliers and project team on metal and aluminium parts

2. Design/engineering reviews with the development team on metal and aluminium parts

3. Signing off all DFM and assure part and tool specs to be achieved within time and costs set

4. Review and approval on feasibility of part specs

5. Reviewing, consulting and approval on the production process

6. Establish succession and keeping the knowledge within the team

7. Coaching and consult product engineers from HQ and XM

8. Consult, tell and coach suppliers

9. Audit suppliers and define, execute improvement programs with suppliers

10. Advice on phase-out or new suppliers

11. Support MRB in decision making

12. Support R&D program from HQ

Qualification:
1. Bsc in Mechanical engineering or material science

2. Minimum of 15 years’ experience in product development or manufacturing of metal and aluminum parts in high class international companies

3. Outstanding theoretical and practical knowledge of:

1). Forming processes like bending, stamping, hydroforming, etc.

2). Machining processes like milling, lathing, EDM, cutting, grinding, punching, etc.

3). Electro chemical treatments like electroplating, edging, electroforming, anodizing, etc.

4). Material treatments like tempering, annealing, etc.

5). Corrossion

6). Combining methods like welding, soldering, glueing, standard solutions, etc.

7). Material properties and material selection.

4. Good knowledge of 3D/2D drawings and QC methodologies

5. Basic knowledge of processes like die-casting, tumbling, sand-casting, etc.

6. Basic knowledge of strength and stiffness calculation methods.

7. Good in all MS Office applications

8. Perfectionistic; eye for detail

9. Coaching skills

10. Good communication and convincing skills

11. Troubleshooting, root cause analysis and problem solving skills

12. Cost- estimation and evaluation skills

13. Excellent in speaking and writing in English and Mandarin
