Application Engineer to the Application Center in Langfang

The competition on the market place is getting more and more fierce, specifically regarding manufacturing technology, cost efficiency, productivity, shorter lead times and an ever increasing quality demand on components. Main drivers are, development of more and more advanced production equipment, method technology, work piece materials, technology shifts, software for simulation and virtual machining and more and more expert level CAM-systems.

To meet these more and more increasing demands, Sandvik Coromant Greater China Region, has taken the initiative to build and equip a completely new Application Center in Langfang, Hebei Province.

The main mission for the Application Center will be to further develop an in depth competence within the cutting process, machining methods and optimization strategies for different customer related application cases. The focus will be to deliver complete world class solutions to Coromant customers in order to increase their competitiveness on the market place.

We are now looking for two Application Engineers to our Application Center in Langfang.

Job assignment

Being an Application Engineer you will handle machine tools, numerical controls and other production equipment in an independent way. You will also use midrange CAM-systems for generation of optimized tool paths and application of tooling, methods, cutting data and machining strategies according to the principle of best practice. Your task will also be to create machining layouts, make time and cost calculations and carry out optimized machining of customer related components and materials. You will also contribute to a professional process documentation and buildup of competence. You will convey this competence via training of internal and external target groups, such as production engineers and technicians. Another task will be to build and maintain networks towards internal and external collaboration partners and stakeholders.

Frequent travel will be a part of the assignment.

Your profile

We are looking for you who have a qualified poly technical education on at least junior college level with a documented apprenticeship. Further on, you have > 5 years of substantial experience of work with modern production equipment within metal cutting. You are familiar with presetting equipment of tools, dynamic balancing of tools and shrink-fit equipment. You are also mastering qualified ISO-, and dialogue programming of different numerical controls.

As a person you are enterprising and independent with a strong own driving force. You are a pronounced team player and communicator with willingness and ability to transfer own knowledge to your team members, customers and stakeholders. Good oral and written communication skills in English is a must.
