Senior Application Engineer to the Application Center in Langfang

The competition on the market place is getting more and more fierce, specifically regarding manufacturing technology, cost efficiency, productivity, shorter lead times and an ever increasing quality demand on components. Main drivers are, development of more and more advanced production equipment, method technology, work piece materials, technology shifts, software for simulation and virtual machining and more and more expert level CAM-systems.

To meet these more and more increasing demands, Sandvik Coromant Greater China Region, has taken the initiative to build and equip a completely new Application Center in Langfang, Hebei Province.

The main mission for this Application Center will be to further develop an in depth competence within the cutting process, machining methods and optimization strategies for different customer related application cases, projects and processes. The focus will be to deliver complete world class solutions to Coromant customers in order to increase their competitiveness on the market place.

We are now looking for a Senior Application Engineer to our Application Center in Langfang.

Job assignment

In your role you are solving complex application and machining problems based on given conditions from customers and other stakeholders. An important part of your work is the ability to, via utilization of simulation software of different kinds, represent, verify and document a complete manufacturing process and reach useful, value added results to our customers.

Especially important is technical and economical optimization of all parameters, methods and models and data which influences the cutting process.

You are expected to take part in research and development projects, perform training sessions in leading method and application technology. Target groups are internal sales engineers and technicians as well as production engineers and other technical staff among Coromant customers. Another important task is to act as fellow advisor for technicians in different development stages. Building networks based on internal and external stakeholders will be of substantial importance.

As the main focus will be to work with authentic customer related cases you will be traveling frequently.

Your profile

We are looking for you who have a solid, > 5 year documented, qualified experience of the metal cutting process. You should have an apprenticeship period within the metal cutting or machine tool manufacturing industry and a theoretical education on bachelor or junior college level or above. You are familiar with modern tooling systems and the application of these.

You shall have a documented knowledge in CAM – programming and ISO – programming of numerical controls. You shall also take implementation responsibility for your process solutions and programming in a workshop environment.

As a person you are enterprising and independent with a strong own driving force. You are a pronounced team player and communicator with willingness and ability to transfer own knowledge to your team members, customers and stakeholders. Good oral and written communication skills in English is a must.
