Essential Responsibilities

The Materials Leader will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role, you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

· Provide manufacturing leadership in the developing, planning and implementing the master schedule
· Lead activities that encompass detailed manufacturing plans and scheduling for assembly, shops, satellites, domestic, International and Revenue Share partners
· Act on all matters pertaining to schedules, status, and inventory and translate, prepare and assign meaningful and functional productivity plans to meet established master schedules for customers
· Assist in the calculation of detailed schedules for equipment, materials and manpower with respect to schedule needs versus resource capabilities
· Work to control inventory levels, cycle time, machine loads, and other aspects as required to meet schedules
· Coordinate production control specialists
· Interface between customer and shops for prioritization of shop load to meet customer demands
· Interface with material input organization to assure realistic and timely delivery of hardware to meet schedule requirements
· Lead the organization by establishing shop schedules that adhere to the Department schedule, and support those schedules through the managed efforts of schedulers and coordinators
· Develop, plan, and manage programs to meet GE purchasing commitments in Sourcing
· Manage the complete purchasing and contract administration functions of low dollar / less complex hardware or services as required to meet program commitments
· Collaborate with manager in setting realistic and challenging operational goals
· Coordinate all production teams’ material status, production priorities, and delivery commitments
· Effectively communicate to external sources, including shops and Revenue sharing partners
· Determine measurement systems to be used, inventory levels, schedules, and appropriate system changes
· Assist in determining manpower needs to meet facility measurement and budget goals
· Provide training on material procedures and processes

Qualifications/Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in a production planning, production control, sourcing or configuration control role)
· At least 3 additional years of experience in production planning, production control, sourcing or configuration control

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT:
· Willingness and ability to travel xx% of the time
