Role Overview
Unless otherwise indicated, applicants for construction positions should have heavy industrial (Direct Hire or Construction Management) construction experience commensurate with the type of work to be undertaken and the requirements identified below.
The Night shift field engineer will be responsible for overseeing all night activities from a safety & quality assurance point of view.
He will be responsible to assist and resolve any technical issue that may face the crew during night works, assures that the work is been carried on as per approved project procedures and specifications and will attend/witness inspections as per the approved inspection and test plans.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
1. Provides technical assistance to the night shift Superintendent. Must be familiar with internationally accepted codes and standards.
2. Provides liaison with the design engineering group in home office. This includes preparing and ensuring dispositioning of Requests for Information (RFI), Field Change Documents (FCD), and Deficiency Reports (DR).
3. Executes field take offs from IFC drawings and provides input for quantity tracking. Verifies installed quantities and reports weekly installed quantities to Project Controls.
4. Assists the Project Field Engineer in the quality control and final check out of Subcontractor work. Coordinates and provides information for day shift field engineering team about night activities.
5. Assists the Field Procurement Supervisor in the inspection and receipt material and in the setting up of jobsite controls for storage and protection of material received at night.
6. Verifies record prints with as-built information are being maintained by responsible parties including Bechtel direct-hire work as well as Subcontractors
7. Determines the scope of areas not shown on the normal IFC drawings, such as package unit interconnection piping and lubrication systems on equipment, instruments etc.
8. Performs inspections of all night work in progress on a continuing basis, witnesses tests and completes final check prior to turnover. Develops punch lists and monitors completion of punch items. Assists in securing the necessary client acceptance documentation for record. Prepares and has full responsibility for managing QC records to ensure that they are fully completed and properly submitted in a timely manner to Document Control.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
1. B.S. degree in an Engineering discipline, or other internationally recognized certification that the candidate has the required education, training, and experience to fulfill the functional duties as Field Engineer.
2. 5 years minimum field piping engineering experience.
3. Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing or power generating station construction
4. Experience in ES&H requirements and rules.

Additional Information
Prior Bechtel field mechanical engineering experience is highly preferred.
Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.)

Other Remarks/Qualifications
Must be able to communicate in Chinese and English. Must accept relocation to TEDA or Tanggu. Must agree with Flexible working schedule (60 hours per week).
