Work Location: Tanggu, China

Project Overview
Bechtel is designing and constructing a major Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant located in western Australia. This position is part of the accounting group at the project’s Tanggu, China Module Yard where the process plant will be constructed using a modular approach and shipped to the Australian job site for installation.

Role Overview
1. Audit and process vendor/subcontractor invoices and employees expenses in accordance with Bechtel’s and Project’s procedure.
2. Review, expedite and resolve all invoices on the AP Hold Report.
3. Interface with procurement and subcontract groups to ensure that appropriate documents (MRR, PO and subcontract) are approved and issued in a timely manner so that the invoices can be paid on time.
4. Coordinate with Shanghai office payroll / HR groups for payroll accounts reconciliation and employees’ inquires.
5. Review Hold report on weekly/monthly basis and provide analysis of unpaid invoices for project information.
6. Comply with the year-end accounting requirements on vendor and subcontractor services and handle accruals and reversals in accordance with Bechtel policy and local GAAP.
7. Prepare monthly journal vouchers and ensure all accounts reconciliations are completed by schedule
8. Review monthly timesheets completion and ensure the charge codes are appropriate.
9. Coordinate with Shanghai office to ensure that the project statutory reports and taxes are prepared and file timely.
10. Coordinate with the requests from Local Bureaus (Tax Bureau, Commercial Bureau, Economic Development Bureaus, etc.).

Basic Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent.
2. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Visio. Some knowledge of AP Oracle applications will be preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Familiar and good knowledge of foreign currency and GAAP.
2. Prior work experience in accounts payable and general ledger is required.
3. Knowledge of Chinese taxation policy is desired. (i.e.VAT, Stamp Duty Tax,etc.).
4. Attention to details and commitment to meeting deadlines in an accurate and timely manner.

Additional Information
1. Two to five (2 to 5) years experience in Engineering and Construction industry.
2. Familiar and good knowledge of Chinese taxation and GAAP.
3. Good communication skills and ability to interface with all levels of people internally and externally.
4. Willing to work hard and take on challenges.
5. Position often requires judgment and resourcefulness to resolve unusual and sometimes complex problems.

Other Remarks/Qualifications
Must agree with Flexible working schedule (60 hours per week).
