Role Description
The Senior System Analysis role within Financial Markets Operations Integration provides the critical strategic link between the Business Analysis community, Development teams and other Application teams. The focus of this position will be the documentation of system specification, interface specification, system requirements and the correspondence with associated business processes/workflows in support of corporate initiatives and projects. The position will also work extensively with internal and external business analysis, development resources, and business stakeholder in knowledge transfer of system requirements and insuring understanding of how those requirements are reflected in applications/systems design and specifications. This position will interact and support business, other application teams and technology. This role also includes oversight of a group of junior system analysis staff.
Responsibilities:
· Gather/analyze/document system requirements leading to the development a system in support of Business Requirements of a business function. These are documented in detailed system flows, functional specification, and service definition.
· Support the development of internal system documentation and design through structured and unstructured system design sessions, new and revised processes and system designs, including the external service interfaces and non-functional service level agreement and track-ability.
· Support the establishment of new projects by facilitating reuse of current and future business service components, and elaborate through sessions with business analysts, business stakeholders, and producing the resultant Functional Specification documents.
· Develop metrics for business service component reuse, capability matrices and quantifying associated business value of business services.
· Manage the effects and impacts of requested enhancements to established service interfaces, systems and applications, as well as the identification and communication of system interface changes and system portfolio impacts.
Qualifications
· Requires at least 5 years of related professional experience (SA, BA, QA or management consulting)
· Requires 3 years experience in a financial industry/financial services
· Familiarity with Capital Markets, Securities Processing, exposure to Regulatory Reporting, Post-Trade transactional processing, Books and Records, OTC structured product processing, would be beneficiary.
· Experience authoring technical product specifications for software products including Application Programmatic Interface (API) specifications and processing rules.
· Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture, Web Services, and the industry standard technology platforms for Web Services (XML Messaging, WSDL / UDDI).
· Strong familiarity with technical concepts and tools, such as: software architecture platforms, database tools, web and internet applications and interfaces with vendor applications
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skill
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Demonstrated leadership and communications skills
· Ability to work with team members and stakeholders at all levels, technical and non-technical, in a positive and team-affirming manner
· Attentive to detail and quality oriented; ability to execute in a timely and accurate manner
