The Supply Chain Management Development Program (SCMDP) is designed to develop talented individuals into future supply chain leaders for Newell Rubbermaid. The Program immerses recent college graduates into three unique roles over the course of two years. Participants will work with a broad range of brands in a variety of environments, impacting our business daily while learning the ins and outs of supply chain at a Fortune 500 company.

The assignment of the 2-year program includes three, 8-month rotations in Shanghai, China. Each role is distinct, but they all inherently have a large degree of cross-functionality and the goal to expose participants to various functions and teams. Rotation categories as well as possible roles and responsibilities include:

? Engineering- Quality (Manufacturing, Supplier), Operational Excellence, Packaging Engineering, Product Testing, CAD/CAM

? Sourcing- Direct/Indirect Sourcing, Supplier Quality, Negotiation, Contractual Agreements, Supplier Selection, Financial Metrics, Make vs. Buy Analysis, Packaging Sourcing

? Manufacturing- Quality Engineering, Production Planning/Scheduling, Safety/Ergonomics, Supply Chain Excellence (OPEX, Lean techniques), Facility layout, TPM, Process flow, Supervision

? Logistics- Logistics, Transportation, Distribution, Inventory Management

? Planning- Production Planning/Scheduling, Forecasting, Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Global Requirements, Supply Logistics

? Strategic Projects- Supply Chain Excellence (OPEX, Lean techniques), Project Management, Supply Chain Engineering

The Program is designed to give participants the tools needed to accelerate career growth and become a valued member of the Newell Rubbermaid community. Through broad exposure to many areas of the business, participants acquire unique skills and develop an expansive network across the company. In addition to the three rotations, participants are provided with the following development opportunities:

? Global training weeks- 3-4 over the 2 years that include formal trainings (leadership and functional), alumni networking, interactions with business leaders, and community involvement

? Dedicated Mentors- Partnered with a peer mentor initially to help transition to a work environment; Given a leadership mentor in the second year who is able to provide professional advice and long-term career guidance

? Leadership Experience- Additional leadership position in and outside of the Program are offered to further develop project management skills by working cross-functionally on projects designed to address actionable Newell Rubbermaid initiatives that will drive business results


Job Requirements:
? Completed Bachelors or Master Degree from a 4-year program in Engineering, Operations, Logistics or related field before program start in July 2014- 3.0 GPA.
? Fluent in Mandarin and proficient or fluent in English.
? Excellent oral and written communication skills.
? Seeking to learn and practice the trade of a consumer products-related business through a fast-paced, high energy, dynamic position.
? Relevant engineering/supply chain related research or work experience is highly preferred.
? Qualified candidates must have a proven record of commitment, ambition and drive toward establishing and achieving goals.
? Candidates must also be able to work as part of a team and have demonstrated leadership ability.
? Global MDP participants will complete their three rotations and permanent placement in Shanghai, China. Training weeks will be held globally so MDP participants must be willing to travel internationally 1-2 times per year.
