Roles & Responsibilities:

- Lead the Applications Engineering function to provide pre-sales support, post-sales project delivery, vehicular integration and engineering consultancy

- Entail gathering and confirming customer targets and specifications, defining, agreeing and directing tasks/projects to ensure all customer targets and objectives are met.

- Be responsible for the delivery of all customer related programs in China

- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain close working relationship with a team of Applications Engineers in the UK will be vital

- Work closely with Business Development; Product Engineering; Manufacturing Operations; Finance & Admin, in China and in the UK.

Key Task Areas:

1. New Business Development: assist Sales in setting Strategic Goals, identifying key accounts and developing relationships and terms of initial prototype or evaluation projects; introduce Apps Engineer when applicable to Initiate these projects internally and maintain strategic oversight.

2. Customer Relations: foster an effective personal working relationship with appropriate customer contacts and at all times maintains credibility with the customer/investor; recognised by customer as key contact for pre-sales and project initiation activities and maintain regular communication and an escalation route with the customer as the relationship matures.

3. Technology and Engineering:

- Applications Engineering - manage applications engineers and project managers to drive and deliver New Customer Projects

- Solution Development – collect product requirements from the customer and assist to guide the technology road map; audit DV and PV testing results to ensure requirements are being met and market segments are correctly covered

- IP Generation and New Technology - provide feedback on potential areas of existing IP for investigation and potential areas of interest for future development.

Requirements:

- Excellent BSc. Engineering Degree, MSc is an advantage

- >15 years working experience in automotive systems with deep understanding of and experience in architectures of various kinds of hybrid and battery electric vehicles.

- Good understanding of the Clean/Green Technology Industry and Market.

- Significant experience in automobile engineering, especially in chassis, power-train, motor and vehicular control and battery system management

- Adequate understanding of Business Operations and management departmental budget

- Enjoys exploring business opportunities and customer relationship management

- Excellent project management skills with the experience of delivery of fast paced projects in demanding environments.

- Empowering leadership style to promote collaborative learning and maximise efficiency

- Excellent inter-personal skills and able to communicate effectively with Chinese customers/ vendors/business partners/colleagues

- Creative problem solving and technical mastery

- Mastery in English; Mandarin proficiency is a must for day-to-day communication with colleagues in the UK Technology Center
