Roles & Responsibilities:

· Develop commodity sourcing strategy and enhance regional supplier base and market intelligence.

· Execute commodity strategy in the region and drive commodity performance

· Drive the implementation of global sourcing and cost savings, report status and results

· Risk management (quality, bankruptcy, shortage, R&D Capacity).

· Organize and lead regional negotiations and contribute to global negotiations

· Drive business performance, business reviews and business development programs. Support Supplier Assessments and control new supplier creation

· Project management: new supplier development targeted to meet specific strategic corporate sourcing needs; search new suppliers as needed that meet company requirements

· Monitor the approval at tooling and FA samples (First Article) in parts qualification stage and zero defect quality level at parts made by supplier in production stage

· Direct interface with suppliers and different functions within UK and China on technical, quality requirements and related issues.

· Conduct supplier process audits when required to ensure process capability at the locations of suppliers

· Measure supplier performance in terms of quality and delivery on continuous basis and work on continuous improvement with suppliers

Competences and Qualifications

· Bachelor Degree in Electronic / Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with a preference for an MBA

· Minimum of 5 years working experience in Automotive Tier-1 or Tier-2 OEM Environment

· Experience with PCB/PCBA, machined parts, plastic injection/extrusion and non-metallic components, as well as supplier development are desirable

· Good command of spoken and written Chinese and English a MUST in order to handle everyday communication in English with colleagues in the UK

· Ability to work across a variety of cultures and mindsets. Open minded, proactive problem solving

skills especially when facing challenges of intercultural, network and matrix structure with multiple interests

· Strong understanding of the key success factors of efficient global supply chain management

· Ability to work in a team environment across all corporate functions: engineering, marketing,

purchasing, production

· Demonstrated background and proven experience with high level supplier negotiations and materials management

· Solid analytical skills, with excellent follow-up and attention to detail

· Self-motivated, multi-tasking and able to manage many projects simultaneously

· Willingness and able to travel frequently
