JOB FUNCTION
Support the activities of the C&R Engineering Group in China. The incumbent must plan, direct, and execute projects requiring considerable engineering knowledge and experience, which result in the design and construction of operations and/or complete Greenfield facilities in support of C&R's technical and market growth objectives in China. The incumbent is responsible for the meeting the project times lines and budget constraints, as well ensuring compliance with all safety and China regulations.
The mission of the Engineering Group is to provide a broad range of engineering and technical service needs primarily to the manufacturing facilities of the C&R Businesses throughout China. More specifically, the major areas involve:
(1) basic design and process control engineering for new or revised processes or facilities;
(2) providing consulting services to the plants for improvement or new projects;
(3) providing project definition and management of outside engineering efforts for project design;
(4) providing construction supervision and startup assistance for major projects;
(5) providing engineering support for the Licensing and Joint Venture function;
(6) providing engineering evaluations for contract manufacturing and potential acquisitions,
(7) working cooperatively with R&D and the Process Technology staff to most effectively use all skills.
All activities are carried out recognizing the requirements for regional regulatory requirements while still considering, when applicable, best practices established in the US regulations and organizations such as OSHA, EPA compliance, and Affirmative Action commitments. All equipment and machinery design concepts include those features that will provide for conformance to regulations as a minimum, and will reflect our low?cost producer objectives while minimizing the risk of property damage or injury and hazardous exposure to employees. In addition all facility and design plans will reflect our goal to create increased flexibility in manufacturing and implement Lean Manufacturing concepts.
Requires:
A BS/MS or equivalent in experience in Electrical Engineering,Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a specialty toward process control is preferred. The candidate should possess good English speaking skills in addition to Chinese. The candidate should be conversant in MS Project or have the ability to be so. Five years of Coatings manufacturing, engineering, and/or construction experience are all positives in this job.
