Program Manager, Kindle Content Risk Management

The Kindle Content Risk Management (CRM) team is looking for a Program Manager to identify and mitigate content and publisher risk in the Kindle store. This individual will manage the detection of new types of content risks, define the needed policies to reduce the risk, engineer procedures to detect and eliminate the high risk content and ultimately design systems to automate all steps.

This is an important role that directly influences the Kindle customer experience. This role will include a mix of long term strategic policy making, project management, process optimization and system design.
? Responsible for the direction, coordination, and implementation of content risk reduction programs and plans.
? Shapes the direction of the team, keeps them focused and motivated to deliver the right results.
? Combines a deep cross-functional business understanding with automation techniques for ongoing policy and process evolution.
? Effectively applies best practices and marketplace specific needs to all strategic decisions.
? Maximizes resources for the greater good of the organization.
? Maintains a thorough understanding of technical systems in a complex automated content processing environment.
? Implements changes or develops new processes as necessary to provide the ability to reduce content risk, improve the reader experience, and better serve the content publisher.
? Continually measures and evaluates all work processes using Kaizen and other improvement methods.
? This position requires a candidate who has the ability to define automation needs and keep pace with our explosive growth while motivating others to meet the challenges of an extremely deadline-driven environment.

Basic Qualifications
? Demonstrates clear written and oral communication
? Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferred degrees include: Administration, Computer Science, Engineering or any related fields.
? 4-6 years product management or program management experience.
? A proven ability to identify new areas of opportunity and invent policies to address those opportunities using expertise in disciplines such as business analysis and process engineering and scaling with software/automation.
? Demonstrates the ability to cooperate with, and influence, multiple internal stakeholder teams accross policies and projects.
? Fluent in Chinese and English.
? Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
? Ability to travel to the US on occasion required.
? Willingness to create policies to manage some explicit and adult content (amongst other risk types).
Preferred Qualifications
? Experience with project management.
? Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean Processes.
? Direct experience in digital process management.
? Understanding of copyrights and the publishing industry.
? Strong technical and analytical aptitude, including knowledge of statistical tools and a history of working with engineers to deliver innovative solutions.
? Experience working in startup and internet technologies is preferred.
? Experience writing functional requirements to create new tools or refine existing ones, with a focus on transaction automation.
? Constructing data-driven analyses of new problem spaces.
? Developing business cases with policy and/or implementation recommendations to handle new risks, including scaling with software.
