Role Purpose:
The External Supply Project Manager is responsible for the planning and implementation of required New Product Introductions (NPI) and technical transfer projects (inclusive of new contractors, new products, product line extensions, contractor rationalisations, cost improvement initiatives, contingency plans and product transfers), including the management of project and program interdependencies from the External Supply network.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
? Lead cross functional teams to plan and implement, NPI’s and technical transfers within, from and to the Contractor Network.
? To ensure that all end to end supply chain activities are effectively aligned and prioritised to deliver customer expectations.
? Leverage cross functional knowledge and capability to identify key deliverables and effectively prioritise and manage risk, proactively escalating decisions in a timely fashion to support overall delivery.
? Set up effective communication mediums for the project, issue project timelines and manage meeting logistics and timely communications e.g. recording of actions etc..
? Ensure compliance with Technical Transfer SOP
? Lead the planning process, develop and agree Project Charters with project sponsor and key stakeholders.
? Define delivery milestones and track progress, communicating issues / risks / key decision timelines to sponsors and stakeholders.
? Implement regional Business Cases relating to allocated projects, monitoring and controlling all capital and revenue expenditure to meet budget and benefit delivery requirements.
? Identify and negotiate for resources from R&D, Regulatory, Quality and other support functions as necessary to successfully transition products and process improvements into, or between, contractors.
? Drive the development of options and proposals with defined implementation plans delivering the required program benefits, including performance measurement.
? Responsible and accountable for the efficient and effective introduction of new products to the CH business and for ensuring that all initiatives comply with GSK’s requirements.
? Manage the successful implementation of insourcing and outsourcing for GMS projects including contingency projects, aligning plans to achieve overall ‘Blueprint’ savings objectives.
? Provide Procurement with technical support when assessing new contractor supply sources.
? Responsible for timely communication of project status to identified key Commercial and GMS stakeholders.
? Champion the use of the appropriate and agreed project management toolkit, standardised Global Project Leadership Program methodologies to track status and take the appropriate corrective actions to ensure successful implementation.
? Project manages regional initiatives as a result of OE, Value Engineering, Continuous Improvement programmes that require significant technical activities and transfers.
? Ability to adapt to each contractor situation and through interpersonal skills and successfully engaging with the External Supply team to proactively agree to work with GSK to meet its requirements, transfer and improvement programs.
Qualifications/Requirements:
? University Degree in a relevant discipline (business, science, technical).
? Knowledge and experience with technical transfer and NPI projects
? Project Management experience
? Understanding of the Consumer Healthcare business and product ranges.
? Understanding of the new product in-licensing process.
? Highly accountable.
? Rapid learning ability to deal with novel and complex situations with high levels of uncertainty.
? Strong communication and facilitation skills
