In China, we are the market leader with products used in wood furniture. We supply to our China customers from three sites in Dongguan, Tianjin and Jiaxing. Responsibilities:
Overall description: this position is responsible for integrated supply chain management of AkzoNobel Wood Finishes and Adhesives Asia Pacific, including the functions of Production, Planning, Purchasing, Warehouse, Logistics, Process, HSE, QA&QC.etc.
Job Responsibilities:
1.Lead integrated business planning processes at an SBU level to maximize the utilization of existing manufacturing capacity to service customer/demand needs. Ensure that all manufacturing operations' sales and operations processes are networked to optimize the AkzoNobel supply chain (capacity, raw material supply, logistics, VAT, etc.)Work, cross-functionally, with Sales/Marketing and RD&I to manage the SBU product portfolio, with the aim of reducing non-value-adding complexity and improving contribution margins. 2.Oversee development of site continuous improvement plans at all sites (particular focus on HSE, waste elimination, customer service levels, and productivity).
3.Manage the SBU Procurement function in close cooperation with Sales/Marketing and RD&I, with a strong focus on margin improvement, stability of supply, and growth in opportunities.
4.Support site-based Behavioral Based Safety systems to identify barriers to “safe behaviors” and develop solutions aimed at eliminating those barriers.
5.Participate, as the SBU representative, on the BU Integrated Supply Chain Council to identify and execute key supply chain priorities for the BU.
6.Work with the BU Global Engineering team to develop and execute Master Site Plans and Capital Plans for all manufacturing operations within the region.
7.Cooperate, regionally with other SBU Supply Chain Managers, to deliver the most efficient use of the AkzoNobel manufacturing and logistics network.
8.Work, cross-functionally, with Sales/Marketing and RD&I to manage the SBU product portfolio, with the aim of reducing non-value-adding complexity and improving contribution margins.
9.Develop mechanisms to ensure the transfer of “best in class” knowledge and experience between the production units in the region for improved efficiency.
10.Implement aggressive plans to reduce OWC through improvements in purchasing terms and inventory. 11.Identify and engage in operational eco-efficiency projects that reduce the eco-footprint (air emissions, waste generation, water consumption, etc.) of regional manufacturing operations.
12.As part of the SBU Management Team, ensure that regional manufacturing strategies and capital plans are closely aligned with SBU priorities (growth and cost management).
Requirements:
Job Requirements:
1.Bachelor Degree, preferably in engineering or a related technical discipline.
2.7-10 years manufacturing/operations experience. Chemical industry preferred.
3.Ability to communicate effectively across businesses, functions and regions.
4.Prior experience working in a complex matrix organization
5.Strong analytical skills
6.Prior experience managing people in a global environment
7.Solid decision-making skills
8.Open-minded, creative, action-oriented, and willing to challenge the status quo.
