Job Summary
This position provides Quality Engineering leadership. Will work to have excellent customer satisfaction
through quality related involvement and support of the Quality objectives and goals and the RA China
facility. Understand ISO 9000 Quality systems and requirements. Take lead to provide training and
leadership to Quality Techs, Engineers, and customers. Provide the liaison between Quality Engineering
and other departments in support of quality and manufacturing initiatives. This is a self-starter position to
include resolution of component issues, data support, correction, corrective, and preventive action. Ensure
Good Business Ethics through familiarity with policies and procedures relating to standards of business
conduct. Have strong oral and written communication skills.

Functional Expertise
？？Ensure that department operates at an optimum cost through proper staffing, scheduling,
and cross training.
？？Assists in capital equipment budgeting, justification, and procurement.
？？Responsible for the development, procurement, and maintenance of the department’s
physical area (layout, equipment, furniture, etc.).
？？Assists in the development and enhancement of inspection methods associated with part
and process qualification and stabilization.
？？Evaluate suppliers’ Quality Systems and capabilities to effectively assess capability to meet
Rockwell Automation requirements. The quality assessments may require travel. Initiates Supplier
improvement plans to address deficiencies identified during the assessments.
？？Develop and implement Quality Plans and methods that will ensure that purchased material
conform to Rockwell Automation requirements. Ensure that technical/engineering and quality
requirements are adequately defined and communicated to suppliers.
？？Provide Quality Engineering technical evaluation and training in Design of Experiments, Process
Capability studies and Piece Part Approval Processes (PPAP).
？？Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and blueprint reading.
？？Provide technical support on drawings (GD&T), statistical quality (capability studies,
correlation, gage R&R, etc.) and gage design and development.
？？Develop and/or update Workmanship Standards, train and answer questions and resolve
borderline issues.
？？Develops and maintains records of appropriate, documented procedures and work
instructions to ensure effective implementation of the inspection services provided.
？？Provide problem solving (root cause failure analysis) and corrective action services.
？？Answer technical questions and facilitate disputes.
？？Provide Quality Engineering technical evaluation with APQP and PPAP.
？？Recommends revisions to specifications when needed.
？？Conducts training on QA/QC concepts and tools.
？？Interfaces with engineering groups, customers and suppliers on quality related issues.
？？Support ISO inter and intra department procedures and revise.

？？Conducts task in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations
(state/federal laws, ISO 9001, ISO 14000, etc.) as well as Rockwell Automation policies and
procedures.
？？Supports or leads Continuous Improvement Processes, Department Objectives, CSMIP and
Lean Initiative Projects.
？？Leads or facilitates product transfers to other businesses or Rockwell facilities.
？？Initiates formal corrective actions (CAPS). Able to facilitate, implement, investigate, plan,
and conduct effectiveness reviews for the CAP process.
