Retail Banking and Wealth Management
Retail Banking and Wealth Management leverages HSBC’s global retail banking expertise and wealth management capabilities to deliver a broad range of world-class retail banking solutions to millions of customers. Driving for growth in key markets around the world, the business comprises areas such as retail banking, wealth management, insurance and asset management, with a focus on customer-centric propositions and innovative and efficient distribution channels that will differentiate our customer experience and deliver market leading retail banking and wealth management solutions.


We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join this team in the role of Data Manager, RBWM CDO, RBWM HBCN.
In this role, you will:
·Work with each of the regional business and functional CDOs to execute the group data strategy into each of the businesses. This will require working with regional/country business units, Change Delivery, Software Delivery, and all IT teams.
·Engage with a team of best practitioners across the region which have corporate-wide knowledge and experience in enterprise business data management, and will focus on the execution of cross-business improvements in data management and data quality to support global information management reporting, compliance, and business strategy initiatives.
·Have the understanding of, and commenting upon, the design and build of the future capability, acting as the “data expert” for the RBWM business. Any issues identified will then be fed back to the senior Data Management team.
·Help implement and execute the new Data Quality Framework which will improve the measurement, control, quality and accuracy of data across HSBC. The measurement and reporting of data quality will allow HSBC to be comfortable with the information reported to regulators and shareholders, and will improve management reporting and reduce data inconsistencies and operational risk
·Continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.

Qualifications
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
·A minimum of 8 years proven experience, marketing and/or database management experience or equivalent.
·Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
·Proficiency with personal computer and UNIX, as well as pertinent mainframe systems and software packages or equivalent, including experience in handling large databases and strong SQL (Structured Query Language) and/or SAS query writing and programming skills
·Strong communication, analytical, organizational, interpersonal skills are required, including the capacity to articulate the case for information management in the language of business.
·Ability to independently assume responsibility and complete tasks.
·Working across all levels of the organisation to understand cross-functional linkages and interdependencies, as well as the implications of information and data management risk at both a strategic level and at the business unit level.
·Experience of leading and managing complex projects.
·High level of professional competence.
·Ability to understand and interpret complex business requirements.
