Primary function
· Install a continuous improvement program at the site
· Train and coach site management and staff in leading and implementing change
· Conduct shop-floor activity analyses, interviews, data gathering and analysis and
compile into improvement opportunities and impact
· Support the site leadership in improvement project idea generation, project
chartering, action planning and implementation
· Lead Brown Belt improvement projects at the site for 30% of time
· Coordinate the site Brown and Green Belt improvement projects, ensure the
tracking of benefits of local projects and that projects are driven to completion
and/or closure
· Local contact for Continuous Improvement related initiatives including Lean Six
Sigma
Area of responsibility
· Drive site-wide transformation
· Train operators & managers in tools and standards
· Implement necessary support structures to ensure sustainability e.g. performance
management and changes to site organization
· Coach and challenge senior operational managers through a demanding change
process
Lead local Brown Belt projects
· Coordinate, align and ensure benefit tracking of local L6S projects
Typical tasks
· Oversee, support execution of transformation
· Support self assessment and action planning of site; organize and facilitate external
assessments.
· Physically conduct analyses (e.g. DILO observations, waste walks)
· Conduct training for site management, middle management and staff
· Set up, coach and train improvement teams; support these teams in improvement
implementation
· Support site leadership in improvement project idea generation workshops and help
charter new site projects (Black, Brown and Green Belt)
· Lead Brown Belt projects for the local site

· Full time position
· Participates in implementation waves (large sites).

Build capabilities to grow into more senior management positions at manufacturing sites, or

Experience
Sound basis in an operational role, e.g. production, maintenance, (process) engineering,
logistics, …
Well-respected, demonstrates sound judgment under pressure. Able to support and coach
colleagues
Experience in line management or team management in large projects
Experience in change processes; lean and/or six sigma implementations or similar is
beneficial
Must be an AkzoNobel trained Brown Belt or be willing to be trained as a Brown Belt (two
weeks) and commit to requirements for Brown Belt certification.
