Position Objective:
This role will achieve business goals related to Operational Excellence, PDI, and Growth by providing program and project management expertise to various corporate functions and Strategic Initiatives in the AP region. The Program Manager will partner with functional leaders in the region to plan, execute, and successfully complete programs and projects tied to critical enterprise and regional initiatives such as Growth through Innovation, Services and Emerging Markets; building a Progress, Diverse and Inclusive environment; and Operational Excellence activities such as AGILE (functional transformation) and Indirect Productivity. In addition to directly managing programs and projects, the Program Manager will also coach functional project leaders on PM fundamentals, as well as serve in a strategic advisor capacity to functional leaders in the region on matters related to key initiatives, programs and projects.
Responsibilities:
Partner with functional and business leaders in the AP region in the creation, prioritization, planning, and effective execution of programs and projects that deliver improved business performance.
Directly project-manage critical projects tied to enterprise and regional strategic initiatives.
Coach, supervise and improve the effectiveness of PMO Project Managers and functional project leaders to ensure projects in the region are delivered on-schedule, on-budget, at the necessary quality levels, and with the required business benefit.
Provide oversight and appropriate reporting of the regional programs to functional leaders in the region and to global initiative leaders.
Identify interdependencies, risks and issues, and create and deploy effective mitigation strategies to ensure the programs and projects stay on track to the schedule, budget, quality, and business benefit goals.
Leverage and institutionalize the effective use of the PMO project management methodology, the Ingersoll Rand Goal Deployment Process, and lean tools such as the A3 & A4.
Coordinate with PMO Global Program Leaders on enterprise-wide strategic initiatives and critical corporate functional programs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor's Degree or home country educational equivalent (in area of required expertise, if applicable).MBA preferred.
7 + yrs Program/Project Management experience.
2+ yrs Operational Excellence experience (Lean, Six Sigma, TQM, etc).
Experience with implementation of strategic initiatives.
Experience with change management techniques and tools.
Fluent in English.
Experience in multiple countries in the Asia Pacific region is preferred.
Experience supporting multiple corporate functions is preferred (i.e. Finance, HR, IT, etc).
Strong leadership skills and ability to influence.
Ability to translate a strategy into a specific program of projects that will meet the goals of the strategy.
Ability to oversee a complex program of regional projects and identify risks and issues that may be associated with the program or unique to a particular region.
Analyze and finds alternatives to ineffective or outdated standard practices.
Drive to root cause, involving and gaining input from relevant stakeholders and subject matter experts.
Ability to consider issues and initiatives from various perspectives, considering multiple alternatives for addressing problems.
Strong business acumen and savvy with ability to understand and suggest solutions from varying business perspectives.
Ability to collaborate and influence at regional leadership levels.
Requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills and fluency in English.
Requires strong business acumen.
Will require occasional regional travel to monitor performance and resolve issues impeding program and project progress.
