Brief summary of position’s purpose or role – the primary objective of the role
The PMT Operations Planning function is responsible for alignment with the global planning process and specifically for the Asia Pacific supply chain planning process. The Operations Planning function partners with sales, finance, manufacturing, procurement, customer service and logistics to drive processes and systems that satisfy customers, optimize supply planning, and reduce cost.
The Material Planner directly reports to the Master Scheduler of UOP Asia Pacific, and dot line to ZJG site Supply Chain manager. The planner focuses on MUS UOP plant and is responsible for planning, and coordinating production schedules, and planning, purchasing, warehousing and control of all parts and materials to optimize supply and demand. The planner is also responsible for inventory planning and forecasting and maintenance of optimal inventory levels, plant OTTR performance and reporting the Supply Chain KPIs for the MUS UOP plant in Asia Pacific. The Material Planner provides a link between the regional commercial team and the manufacturing facilities. The Material Planner supports the global SIOP process to communicate results and resolve demand/supply issues.
Describe the key tasks / activities that are necessary to fulfil the purpose of the role – remember these actions should not be key “goals” – these should be reviewed and allocated annually as part of the performance development program
Owner of MRP stock module : Makes sure that all Material Requirements Planning (MRP) elements in the list are relevant and accurate; Convert purchase requisitions to PO/STO’s; Reviews MRP messages daily and takes action as required; Executes schedule changes in accordance to time fence policies (PO QTY, delivery date, etc.)
Inventory control: Fully utilize APO, including DRP, to ensure that inventory of stock products at MUS UOP plant is at the levels needed to maintain satisfactory service levels by SKU. Balance supply with demand at the SKU level while adhering to established production plan, policies, resource constraints and requirements need date and communicate constraints via the SIOP process
Key POC for Individual Sales Order questions: what secondary distribution network location to ship from to meet customer needs (when primary/preferred location unavailable).
Notify AP UOP master scheduler of any issues projected by MRP (e.g. material not coming in as forecasted, demand coming in stronger than forecasted)
Accountable for key metrics: Inventory as it relates to: OTTR, DOS (days of supply), NPI (Net Production Inventory), IRA(inventory record accuracy),Schedule Adherence; responsible for Supplier On Time Delivery
Responsible for the MUS UOP site SIOP execute and join in AP monthly supply plans for the products sold via the Distribution Center. <- don’t understand. Drive root cause, corrective actions for areas not achieving SIOP metrics targets
Insure supply/demand plans balance for MUS UOP site and keep agreed upon inventory level. Run stock high/stock low reports and take actions based on the data
Management, control and monitoring of planning data accuracy, to ensure high levels of systems integrity in SAP
Represent MUS UOP site at Asia planning meetings
Education / Qualifications Bachelors degree in related field preferred
Experience minimum 10 years manufacture planning experience
Professional Skills / Knowledge
Proven MRP, scheduling, capacity management and organizational skills
Familiar with continuous improvement and root cause analysis techniques
Understanding of SIOP concepts
Proven analytical and judgment skills.
Experience using IT and PC based software systems including SAP ERP SNPProven ability to work and communicate in a team environment, in both Chinese and English Preferred
Qualifications:
High level of product, process and customer knowledge.
Good understanding of supply chains
Proven ability to build consensus within a cross functional team
Proven ability to meet commitments to both external and internal customers, on time
Six Sigma Green Belt Certification is plus
SAP/Microsoft Office experience
