Project Purchaser

Job description:　　　　　　

• Support Sales Department during the calculation of sales offers
• Plausibility Check of purchasing prices (not quantities) in sales calculations
• Attend Project Meetings and Kick of meeting
• Allocation of Purchasing budgets for the main commodity groups based on the sales calculation (in cooperation with the project management)
• Coordination of Purchasing Activities on jobsite
• Forward detailed project information to the responsible purchasers (Scope of Delivery, Bundling, Warranty Periods, "Local-Content-agreements" ...)
• Tracking of design status in order to ensure punctual deliveries;

If necessary: escalation via project management

• Forward updated information (about required delivery dates, Scopes of supply etc.)
• Track the inquiry and order placement status of inquiries that are critical (concerning delivery dates and/or technical issues) via the Purchasing pipeline
• Inform the different business units about adherence to processes and potentials for optimization (e.g. quality of inquiry documents)
• Plausibility Check of the Sourcing Pipeline; If necessary: Initiate modifications via Strategic Purchasers
• Act as interface between Project Management and Strategic Purchasers before and after orders
• make or buy decision
• Attend project reviews and lessons learned

Requirements:

• Certified Course of Studies in mechanical engineering and/or Business Administration
• At least 5 years of experience in Purchasing or Project Management
• Strong sense of cost down and negotiation skills
• Fluent Business English
• Experience in SAP is preferred.
• Willingness for temporary fieldwork (up to several weeks) on our jobsites
• Work location: Shanghai, and need to travel for about 20% of the working time at least.
