职位描述

Purpose of the position
Development and implementation of the Global Tonnage Strategy including Strategy Definition & Communication, Customer Evaluation and Strategic Account Management within his assigned region.
Identification, prioritisation, positioning and development of global business development opportunities including demand-side value propositions and early phase conceptual options.
Development of an opportunity pipeline that will deliver 440+ million of profitable investment annually.


Principal responsibilities
1 Contribute to the development of the overall GBU Tonnage Strategy, including:
1.1 Monitor and interpret global industry activities and global market trends
1.2 Identify & evaluate emerging industry technologies and geographies that will impact the Gases business
1.3 Validate Strategy through industry/customer networks and internal stakeholders
1.4 Develop information on, analyse and provide insight on competitor activities
1.5 Identify priority clusters and lead cluster studies
1.6 Communicate and seek alignment of Tonnage Strategy with internal stakeholders
1.7 Initiate regular dialogue with internal stakeholders to agree on prioritisation of opportunities
2 Lead the identification and positioning of opportunities in his region in line with the Tonnage Strategy including the development and presentation of the Opportunity Assessment Paper. Activities include:
2.1 Customer evaluation including assessment of customer viability, process and/or technology risks providing insight so that informed decisions can be made
2.2 Develop demand-side value proposition through customer engagement
2.3 Develop customer tactics with Business Development
2.4 Ensure alignment of opportunity development priorities with BD Hubs and LE
3 Implement Strategic Account Management processes for selected customers. Design Strategic Account Plans and initiate and drive customer positioning and engagement.
Key Performance Measures (corresponding to above principal responsibilities)
4 A strategy that displays challenge, innovation and insight, a balance of immediate and long term needs; is focused and commercially oriented, has buy-in by peer group and considers key business processes
4.1 Industry needs are interpreted and communicated within the GBU and aligned with the Group Strategy
4.2 The company has the necessary information about the industry and customers to be in position to bid for and win profitable business in line with, and supporting the GBU growth targets
4.3 Collaborative peer participation in the development of the GBU Strategy with clarity of communication with BD Hubs
5 Number of generated opportunities of quality.
5.1 Ratio of opportunities passing assessment stage that are agreed as feasible and to be pursued by BD Hubs.
5.2 Ratio of those concluding in a win position with agreed risks and financial returns.
6 Company has the necessary information, relationships, contacts with Strategic Customers to secure objectives


Required key skills (functional/technical)
1 Functional skills:
1.1 Strategic thinking and capable of developing innovative solutions to problem solving
1.2 Proven track record of finding customers and opportunities, and planning their development with profitable results.
1.3 Successful customer management experience.
1.4 Understand and be able to contribute to the development of economic business cases
2 Interpersonal skills:
2.1 Possesses strong communications skills at all levels
2.2 Ability to influence and develop strategic relationships (both internal and external)
2.3 Demonstrated ability to work cohesively in a team environment
2.4 Demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo and improve existing processes/programs


Required qualifications/experience
1. Minimum of 15 years experience relevant to business development and/or marketing in chemical/petro-chemical industry.
2. First degree in science/engineering, and advanced degree or MBA preferred
3. Considerable experience in a multi-cultural business environment
