The daily decision of this role will have impact on Safety, Environment, Operation and Mainteinace of our Sarnia Manufacturing Complex.

Reporting to the Engineering Services Coordinator,the staff inspection engineer is responsible for pressure equipment integrity issues at Sarnia Manufacturing Complex. The staff inspection engineer is responsible for providing mechanical and/or material engineering support to the unit inspectors, base plant operations and providing consultation to operations, maintenance, turnarounds, and projects. The job involves various aspects of inspection, materials, welding, quality control, quality assurance, equipment design, fitness for service, procedure reviews and creating / updating local pressure equipment standards and specifications. The role may require the successful candidate to work additional hours during peak periods.

Requirements:

Experience
Preferred that the candidate have a minimum of 8 years experience in the pressure equipment integrity field.
Education
Preferred candidate must have minimum of Bachelor’s of Engineering Science degree from an accredited university, preferably in mechanical, Chemical or Materials field.
Cerification

Licensed Professional Engineer (ability to obtain licensure in Ontario).

Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on full time basis for anyone other than their current employer.

Must be able to search for, obtain and organize relevant information and views, including qualitative or less assessible data to diagnose complex problems.
Have the ability to clearly grasp what needs to be done to address an issue and create clear priorities.
Have the ability to see the potential links between events and the wider consequences of proposed solutions and decisions.
Be able to present complex ideas and problems in a way that promotes understanding.
Contribute ideas to improve team activities and outputs.
Monitors and implements continuous process improvements.
Ability to conduct basic and root cause analyses, and present the ability to interpret failure and metallurgical analysis.
