Responsibilities:

The Carmon Creek project is a cornerstone of the Heavy Oil strategy for Shell. It is a very large accumulation with over 9 GBO in-place. The project commenced Integrated Design (FEED) July 1,2012. The project is being executed primarily in house utilizing the P&T design office in New Orleans for engineering and procurement activities for the central processing facilities and well pads and Jacobs Engineering in Calgary for the remaining scope. The Construction Management activities will be managed in house. A strong Owners Construction Management Team is required from the Define phase through detailed design,construction and on to successful plant S/U.

The project scope is 40 kbpd oil production in the first train, including drilling of vertical wells,design and construction of wellpads,field distribution and gathering systems,a Central Processing Facility (CFP) including electrical power and steam generation facilities (Cogen),and associated infrastructure development. It is anticipated that the construction of train 2 will follow immediately after construction of Train 1. Train 2 will deliver an additional 40 kbpd and will be a replication of Train 1.

A large component of the project execution strategy is the offsite modularization and pre-fabrication of the facility to the greatest extent possible. It is anticipated that there will be three fabrication yards: Offshore,US and Alberta. This position is responsible for the effective and successful management of the selected fabrication yards in delivering a quality product to the Peace River construction site on time and on cost with goal zero HSSE performance in the yards.

This role is responsible for the offsite fabrication for the project. Key deliverables/actions including:
safety Champion during Construction: Goal Zero realized.
ensure management systems are developed and implemented to deliver timely and quality data to facilitate efficient and effective construction within the fabrication yards,e.g., HSE, cost, schedule, quality, productivity, contracts, manpower, etc.
help ensure that construction indirects are managed effectively.
ensure contractor interfaces are managed effectively
help ensure the process for release of the modules from the fabrication yard to the Peace River construction site results in a smooth transition
help monitor construction costs to ensure they are within approved budgets.
manage contractors to meet the construction integrated schedule requirements.
active demonstration of Shells General Business Principles and Code of Ethics
coordinate with the Owners Process Engineers, Discipline Engineers, Construction Engineers and Shell specialists to bring a coordinated approach to the overall project scope to meet schedule and quality expectations
extensive travel to offsite fabrication location

Requirements:

Experienced professional construction engineer with a minimum of 10 years experience in oil & gas facilities planning, design and construction
Experience dealing with fabrications yards would be an asset
Strong project management, technical, communication and leadership skills.
Should be self motivated and a proven achiever.
Graduate Engineer or equivalent.
Verifiable track record of delivery in a challenging environment
