Responsibilities:

The position will be based in either Calgary or Houston, depending on the home country of the successful applicant.

This position is accountable for all Commissioning and Start-ups of greenfield and brownfield facilities for onshore gas and light tight oil fields in UA Unconventionals. The CSU objective is to ensure a safe and seamless start-up and transition to the sustained operations in line with the business premises/promises.

Direct reports include the Canada CSU Coordinator, the US CSU Coordinator,and potentially additional CSU coordinators for South America in the future. This person will be responsible for both North and South America.

This individual is accountable for:

· Commissioning and Start-Up (CSU) Supertintendent for Upstream Americas (UA) Unconventionals.

· Managing HSE for the CSU organization.

· The development and management of the CSU organization and activities for UA Unconventionals in accordance with the Global CSU Standards and the Project Delivery Roadmap.

· Ensuring CSU alignment with the other Operations Readiness Teams by collaborating with the Ops Readiness Asset Readiness Superintendents and the Flawless Program Delivery Superintendent.

· Ensuring alignment with Projects and Technology and the Operations Managers regarding CSU activities and processes.

· Collaboration with the network of global CSU leaders to maintain global CSU processes and guidelines and share best practices for continuous improvement.

· Developing and implementing a CSU Assurance Plan for UA Unconventionals, as well as act as a reviewer in Project Assurance Reviews and Pre-Start-Up Audits.

The CSU Superintendent needs to assist the US CSU Coordinator in developing a Commissioning and Start-up organization in the United States. The individual can leverage existing processes and procedures in Canada as well as existing Operations Readiness personnel in the US and,in some cases,asset operating staff. A team of commissioning support contractors will need to be created.

Requirements:

· Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

· Travel for collaboration with team members and various stakeholders.

· Travel to the CSU work sites (North and South America) as required up to 30 - 40%.

· Engineer or Operations Professional with 15+ years background in Leadership, Operations, and Technical management with production operations facilities / gas plants.

· HS Diploma.

· Working experience with the Project life cycle (from concept selection through to final commissioning and handover) is desirable.

· Exposure to onshore gas operations and/or project experience would be beneficial. In addition, experience with remote field locations would beneficial.

· C&SU experience is critical.

· Demonstrate a strong work ethic with a focus on results.

· The ability to develop and implement a vision for top quartile performance.

· The ability to build relationships across organizational boundaries and outside of Shell.

· The ability to influence others to maximize value for Shell.
