MAJOR PURPOSE :
Participates in the planning process for new product programs. Provides daily supervision of administrative
and technical issues involving a functional group of engineers and engineering support personnel who work
on multiple complex projects for a program(s), possibly involving multiple market segments, using the
Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP). Leads the Product Verification and Validation (PV&V) planning
and project risk assessment efforts for new product programs. Normal responsibilities of the group include
the application of engineering principles and techniques. Usually a larger group consisting of more than 10
individuals from multiple appropriate functional areas of expertise. May have responsibility outside
functional group.
MAJOR DUTIES :
Description of the major duties performed in this job.
Supervises the implementation of multiple complex projects for a program(s) using Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP) to ensure that the product program goals are met. May have responsibilities outside the product functional group.
Assists in the resolution of complex technical issues.
May act as liaison and exchanges information with other engineering groups within the enterprise as needed and appropriate.
Provides technical leadership and counsel to less experienced employees within the product functional area and other business functional areas.
Performs administrative duties related to performance management, salary pay plan, succession
planning, resource planning, training, and development of direct reports.
Develops, tracks and meets capital and expense budget for area of responsibility.
Participates in planning process of new products and/or major improvements to existing products,
focusing on project concerns such as cost, completion dates, resource allocation, quality/reliability,
Leads the Product Verification & Validation (PV&V) planning and project risk assessment efforts for new product programs.
