职位描述

MAJOR PURPOSE:
Defines, develops, promotes and supports engineering standards for the commonality of parts, materials and processes to avoid unnecessary part proliferation and improve product quality at the Unit/Division level. Approves changes to existing standards and coordinates the standardization of image processes, drafting practices, Worldwide Information Systems for Engineers (WISE) application and Pro/E library maintenance for the Unit/Division. Facilitates/participates in design team review of service publications within the unit and monitors conformance to engineering, materials and drafting standards.

MAJOR DUTIES:
Description of the major duties performed in this job.
Promotes the use of standards by assisting design engineers in the identification, interpretation and application of engineering standards required for a specific design project.
Leads and/or participates in professional standards development committees to ensure that company interests and needs are reflected in International, national and industry standards.
Reviews and analyzes engineering drawings and decisions to determine adherence to all standards: design, materials, drafting, parts, processes, etc. Makes ongoing analysis of same to determine feasibility of standards options for multiple products, projects and/or locations and makes determination of correct standard to be used.
Provides consultation services on standards, processes and related technical issues in order to identify, prevent or solve problems.
Serves as the Worldwide Information Systems for Engineers (WISE) application expert at the unit, maintaining the integrity of the database by working with design engineers to correct term coding and update engineering drawings.
Develops, reviews, obtains approval and writes decisions for unit engineering standards such as materials, test procedures, manufacturing processes, drafting, etc.
Participates in Unit Hazard Discovery and Rating System (HDRS) reviews and/or investigates and resolves engineering drawing imaging problems.
Participates in community of practice activities that fosters development and adaptation of common engineering processes and tools to improve and leverage the individual and organization performance of the engineering function.

Education:
Formal education or training required to perform the essential functions of the job. Includes degrees, certifications, licenses and/or registration requirements.
Degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
Degree in a Science discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
Degree in an Agricultural Sciences discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)

Relevant Work Experiences:
Type and amount of experience necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. May include specific roles and/or an understanding of a particular function, organization, industry or product line.

Engineering experience. - 1 - 3 years
Technical experience relating to design/diagnostics of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems. - 1 - 3 years
Product engineering experience. - 1 - 3 years
Product design experience. - 1 - 3 years
Experience with engineering tools, systems and databases. - 1 - 3 years
