OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This position will work on new tractor's drive train designs. These designs may originate locally or be localized from centralized design. This position will be part of global design team to achieve the optimum design for the China manufacturing conditions using the most appropriate technology available.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Be part of global drive train design team. Actively participate the design activities.
Understand the manufacturing capabilities of the drive train components supplier and apply this understanding to ensure the new drive train design can be made cost effectively.
Understand all engineering standards such as material, drawing and heat treatment. Communicating these requirements to the Chinese suppliers effectively.
Understand the global drive train designs, features, capabilities and applications and apply this understanding to determine if the design can meet the overall tractor requirement for China market.
Control and update the product specifications and drawings.
Work individually or in teams with other personnel to complete product design and design verifications.
Coordinate the completion of design projects within the PDP format.
Other duties as requested.

REQUIREMENTS:
4-year college Degree in engineering, science or equivalent
5 years experience in engineering/quality function in Drive Train field
3 years Drive Train design experience
Understanding of the national standards for raw materials and manufacturing
Excellent modeling skill in Pro E and fully understand principle of the Pro Interlink database
Be able to use design analysis tools (FEA)
Good knowledge of machinery manufacturing factory
Understanding of all the safety regulations of Chinese government
Understanding of the whole process from product design, drawing, fabrication to production
Understanding of product improvement process (PIP)
Good interpersonal skills, ability to work with people with different cultural background
Good team player, ability to work with JV engineering team
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Positive attitude
Effective communication skills
Ability to take responsibility and make technical decisions based on facts
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Fluent English both in oral and writing
