TST CSO Korea Operations Manager
Role Title Operations Manager (JG51)
Reports to TST CSO Head
Geographic Scope Operations ex. Korea
Key Responsibilities
? Lead and Manage the Sea, Air & VAS Operations teams to focus on the key Performance Deliverables, i.e.
o File management activities post booking,
o Documentation
o System Updates
o Operational finance
o Proactive communication with customer service in case of exceptions.
o Carrier relations: Carrier booking, query resolution
o Changes to Job costing, if any
o Spot procurement for Air
? Support customer service in customer query resolution and exception handling
? Maintain relationships with Carriers , obtain rates and maintain tariffs
? Work with CI on continuously improving processes, procedures to heighten productivity, timeliness and quality
? Ensure compliance to internal & external audit controls
Expectations from the Role
Partner with the Customer Service Teams
o Meet up with the Customer Service team members on a regular basis to identify the list of critical customers and review operations performance on a daily/ weekly basis to enhance quality of the operations that delivers towards our customer value proposition.
o Develop an strong understanding of the business of Critical customers to aid customer retention
Stakeholder Management
o Ensure effective communication with Manager, Area Management and Customer Service team on any opportunities, challenges and alternative options for improved operations service delivery
o Network with other CSO operations managers in the country for best practice sharing and continuous improvement opportunities
People Development
o Lead the team to achieve best-in-class Operations Delivery
o Set clear objectives and guide team members to achieve targets and performance standards
o Develop a robust succession plan and ensure people growth
o Ensure coaching and best practice sharing across the Operations teams
o Responsible for employee engagement
Required knowledge & Skills
Operational Efficiency & Process adherence mindset
o 8+ years experience in managing large Operations / Customer service teams with minimum 5 years experience in the Logistics sector
o Experience in Operations and wide exposure across all the logistics products & processes- Sea, Air, VAS including Trucking, CHB, Warehousing and Cargo-Insurance
o Lean / Sigma, Process knowledge is a pre-requisite & experience of having worked in Operations office is beneficial
o Passion for service delivery, responsiveness and for identifying constant improvements
o Good understanding of MODS/Kewill/Fact – but not a super user necessarily
o Familiarity with Damco Policies and Processes relating to the following is preferred :
？ Customer Service Quality Standards, Quotation Standards and Pricing Policy
？ Financial Management processes relating to credit approval process, invoicing / dunning, and job file profitability management
？ Forwarding Products including VAS, Insurance, etc.
？ Trade Lane Management process, including procurement process, allocation management process, Preferred Carriers , and Carrier charge structure

o Well organized when working under pressure
o Ability to work and thrive in a flexible matrix organization with focus on networking
