Position Deputy General Manager
Location Hangzhou, China
Operation in China USA based manufacturer of industrial products.
Locations in the following cities in China: Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Shenyang and Wuhan.
Reporting Structure MD-China
Travel Requirements Mainly within China, some overseas required.
Objective of the Role
? To radically transform the manufacturing operations in China, repositioning it as a strategic part of CMCO’s global manufacturing footprint
? To grow sales to US$100m in 5 to 7 years.
? Responsible for product quality, performance and total product cost

Responsibilities
? Full P&L execution and accountability for the 2 plants in Hangzhou
? Provides operational direction and ensures that long term plans are effectively utilized and executed and are monitored against short term tactical plans and execution
? Reorganize and reengineer processes/teams to be able to become a world class or near to world class manufacturing facility.
? Work closely with sales organization to identify which products are needed and to localize and design those products
? Provides procurement manufacturing with strategic and tactical leadership to facilitate the execution of plans that positively impact on profitability, employee and customer satisfaction and also regulatory compliance.
? Work towards achieving major manufacturing goals, responsible on company budget, operating income, department overheads and expenditure.
? Ensures that the plants are in good standing with the regulatory bodies and conducts business in an appropriate ethical manner; ensures that policies, procedures, practices and operational standards are effectively communicated to the entire operations team.
? Participate actively and play a key role in arranging financial strategies, secretarial and tax related policy for the company to ensure the effective use of resources, financing of capital expenditures, tax planning and manufacturing and government incentives.
? Provides leadership and support to direct reports to discuss expectations, progress of work, resolve problems and ensure that the plant and company objectives are met.
? Ensure full compliance with company information security, HSE and quality standards
? Provide strategic planning for future business requirements
? Identifies potential acquisition and / or partners in the China market

Key Performance Indicator
? Successfully localize higher value products according to the short and medium term business plans
? Transform the workforce by raising the skill and productivity level across all levels
? Design and make products for the APAC market
? As a longer term plan, to identify possible acquisition
? Full P&L responsibility for the facilities, including cash flow and key operational matrix
Qualification & Experience
? Minimum 10 years in a manufacturing operation environment in industrial sector such as heavy machinery, automation, construction industries
? Experience in managing an operation in China is a must with a proven track record
? Must have a strong understanding and knows the “in & out” of doing business in China.
? Full P&L responsibilities with experience in lean manufacturing, supply chain management and change management
? Experience in managing cross functional relationships with multiple functional areas such as engineering, distribution, production / materials planning, manufacturing, quality assurance
? Must be able to work within a global network of peers, often leading teams to effect the necessary changes in China
? Fluency in English and Chinese (Mandarin) is a must with effective communication skill
? Lean Management knowledge is required with ISO/QM experience
? Experience in heavy machinery is ideal but change management experience is more critical to this role
