Position Summary:

This position is part of the Asia Pacific Repair Systems & Information team, which is responsible for the development and delivery of global under car equipment. The Asia Pacific Equipment Manager interfaces with local and global Business Unit Management, Manufacturing, Government Agencies and Product / Sales Management across various business units for the successful development and release of products to Asian and global markets.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide regional direction for global requirements, design and development of new products or product enhancements for the automotive equipment industry.

2. Must be able to perform and lead in a team environment of product managers and developers of other disciplines and nationalities.

3. Practical application of technical background to assist in developing product line strategy and specification development which would include outsourcing of relevant technologies

4. Test and validate products to assure product performance and quality.

5. Act as an interface on new product introduction, as well as, support for existing products.

6. Drive value engineering initiatives to reduce product cost and/or improve performance of designs.

7. Interface with other Engineering groups to share technologies and foster a creative environment.

8. Administrative issues, personnel, budgets, reports, and communication.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent and five years of related experience in progressively responsible positions. Master’s degree preferred.

2. Experience in the professional Asian automotive market, developing robust, cost effective product solutions

3. Leadership skills to work effectively in a matrix relationship with business units, product management, manufacturing and distribution.

4. Up to date knowledge in mechanical design and proficient in the use of computer aided design and testing, ProE/CAD.

5. Capable of performing stress analysis and other related calculations to support designs.

6. Fluency in spoken and written English plus must possess excellent communication skills.

7. Must be proactive, display a high level of initiative, plus possess good time management and organizational skills.

8. Financial acumen and the ability to understand strategic financial opportunities.

9. Must be willing to travel internationally.
