Position Summary:

The role has two distinct parts of equal importance:

1. The Global purchasing manager is responsible for realising the potential of the global Company (manufacturing in Europe, Singapore, India & China). The goal is to lead sourcing, benchmarking and negotiation activities to achieve substantial material cost reductions.

2. The Global purchasing manager will create and promote a purchasing programme that utilises the combined activities of the various Group subsidiary companies in order to gain economies of purchasing scale. This programme will deliver substantial, measurable financial benefits to the group.

The role will be based in Shanghai at the Minhang site & the manufacturing hub also in Minhang.

Role Objectives

General

1.To achieve continuous material costs reduction rate of at least 5% annually (probably more in Year for Avire Group and £500k per year for Group (increasing by 20% p.a.).

2.Develop relationships with key suppliers, Optimize supplier network.

Company

3.Manage and optimize current purchasing teams within the company organization (Czech, China, Singapore)

4.Develop and implement a global purchasing strategy for Company

Group

5.Initiate and drive a company-wide Asia purchasing programme

6.Ensure companies enrol on the programme and get hard, measurable cost savings as a consequence

Position Responsibilities:

Strategic purchasing responsibilities / activities to include:

1.Drive material costs reduction process through new benchmarking and negotiations

2.Maintain & optimize existing supplier base globally

3.Optimize electronic components purchasing network (especially in China/Asia markets)

4.Develop, agree and implement a Global purchasing strategy with the Manufacturing Director

5.Development & Establish excellent business relationships with key suppliers

6.Optimize supply network, use consignment agreements where applicable

7.Understand in detail the key suppliers structure, manufacturing locations / capabilities, key decision makers and decision making process

8.Lead purchasing negotiations with key suppliers to obtain significant cost downs.

9.Set up & maintain a regular business review meeting with key suppliers (especially in China/Asia regions)

10.Drive component rationalization processes with R&D

11.Establish the standard process to qualify the suppliers

12.Identify and advise the risks for all Group companies involving in the purchasing activities in Asia/ China

13.Draft and review related purchasing agreements, documents to avoid legal risks

14.Lead and manage purchasing teams in all operation sites

15.Other Purchasing activities / responsibilities:

16.Setup relations with other Group purchasing teams

17.Produce a monthly purchasing report

18.Lead the Group purchasing excellence meetings in China

19.Responsible and accountable for overall purchasing activities in Company:

20.Year on Year purchasing savings for both company & Group.

21.Year on Year stock turns improvement

Qualification Requirements:

1.University Degree in Business/Engineering or equivalent experience in purchasing

2.Minimum of 15 years purchasing/team leadership experience in a B2B environment

3.Outstanding record of leading proactive cost down programmes

4.International supply chain experience

5.RfB test result min. 50
