Role Summary/Purpose
Reporting to President & CEO of GE China and functionally to Global Chief Compliance Director, the Chief Compliance Officer (“CCO”) of GE China will be responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring & enforcing the enterprise compliance & ethics strategy in the region. The CCO will have responsibility for compliance program for GE’s diverse business portfolio with the goal of building processes that result in effective functional oversight and strengthen GE’s culture of compliance.

Essential Responsibilities
Provides strategic direction for the Greater China compliance program; ?Supervises the country-wide deployment and operation of GE’s compliance program in Greater China and takes responsibility to ensure that each business unit, and Corporate entities located in the region implement the elements of the GE-required program;

Takes responsibility to identify and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements specific to the industry in question, at the country level;

Interacts with senior executives on sensitive compliance issues and related matters, and takes a leadership role in providing systematic corrective process improvements;

Coordinates effectively with the senior functional leaders across Greater China, including Finance, Audit, Business Development, Human Resources and others as an effective member of GE’s senior leadership team in Greater China;

Takes responsibility for a communication and training strategy that ensures that employees in Greater China are knowledgeable about legal, regulatory and policy requirements, aware of new risks, and committed to GE’s culture of compliance;

Implements key operating mechanisms, including creating a sustainable & coherent compliance schedule (e.g., policy and procedures implementation, third party due diligence and approvals, compliance operating reviews and regulatory compliance councils)

Reports on compliance program health to GE’s Chief Compliance Director, and senior compliance committee, consisting of GE’s General Counsel, Chief Financial Officer, VP of Human Resources, VP of Audit, VP of Litigation and Chief Investigations Officer;

Assumes key role as part of a team of senior global compliance officers covering GE’s global operations to develop GE’s annual global compliance priorities, functional strategy, projects and initiatives to strengthen compliance processes across the Company;

Collaborates with the Corporate Audit’s Executive Audit Manager on key compliance initiatives as well as to help structure audits (e.g., third party rationalizations, customs processes, etc)

Responds to issues, including through investigations in the region and, when necessary, interacting with regulators and enforcement officials to represent GE;

Strengthens GE’s ethics program in the region with a focus on working with GE’s Ombudsperson for Greater China and enhances GE’s no-retaliation reporting environment;

Qualifications/Requirements
1.University graduate; 2.Experience working in-house in senior legal roles;3.Active bar or law society membership (preferred);4.Experienced legal and/or compliance executive with 10+ years experience in related areas (compliance, legal, audit, etc) with strong performance;5.Ability & willingness to travel;
