Responsibilities:

The Marketing Consultant will work closely with the team in China and Hong Kong to develop, establish and manage media strategies and media relations to meet the objectives of the firm. The department focuses on delivering high-quality services to our internal and external clients, and the ability to conceptualise and oversee various media-related activities.

• Media monitoring of news and industry developments;
• Help to develop and execute media communication strategies to enhance the firm's visibility and increase its share of voice in the marketplace;
• Coordinate and offer on-site support at media events and client hospitality events, including press briefings, media workshops and media interviews, etc., and help with post-event follow up;
• Assist with compilation of internal newsletters and email alerts;
• Pitch media opportunities including interviews and article contributions;
• Draft press releases;
• Proofreading and editing as required;
• Manage and coordinate events including, hospitality & corporate philanthropy events, seminars and workshops;
• Provide account servicing and consultancy advice to the firm's key partners in China;
• Will also have to exercise professionalism in handling media enquiries; and
• Arrange speaking engagements for partners.
  

Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• University degree in journalism, communications or relevant field;
• Minimum three to five years'experience, preferably gained in a marketing, communications or a public relations position within a multi-national professional services firm, government organisation or PR agency;
• Media relations experience with financial/economic media in China is preferred;
• Relevant experience and ability in communicating with the press and coordinating media campaigns and events; and
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese (Putonghua) is required.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills;
• Solid relationships with various media organisations in China, specifically business and financial media;
• Strong organisational skills;
• Good time management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multi-task in a dynamic working environment;
• Ability to work independently;
• Strong project management, reasoning, organizational and problem solving skills;
• Excellent presentation and communications skills; and
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
