As a primary IT commodity knowledge resource in Accenture's Procurement BPO organization, the IT Regional Category Lead (APAC) will apply commodity knowledge to support pre-sales activities, knowledge capital development, sourcing project execution, and sourcing consulting services to enhance the value we provide to our clients and differentiate the Accenture service offering. Responsible for working with external and internal clients to identify and execute sourcing solutions to drive down forecasted spend for the client, provide vendor performance and contract management advice, and develop recommendations for managing procurement processes and spend. In addition, may also lead or participate in formal sourcing supplier selection and negotiation activities.
Key responsibilities
Drive adoption and increase account penetration within existing clients by establishing industry credibility and overall category knowledge;
Work with senior functional group leaders from Global 500 companies to develop strategic sourcing strategies aimed at reducing costs and improving supply chain efficiency;
Support strategic sourcing project teams to ensure commodity knowledge is applied to all sourcing engagements, and to ensure that clients receive a consistent level of expertise;
Support Accenture's sales organization during sales cycles to insert Accenture's category knowledge and help drive commercial success;
Assess risks and success factors for incoming sourcing engagements to ensure that:
The sourcing project will likely meet clients expectations;
The market and supply base dynamics are understood
Develop and document sourcing best practices through creation of knowledge documents;
Assist in the development and delivery of new service offerings where category knowledge is required;
Quickly develop expertise in categories where there is limited internal knowledge as client needs arise.
Travel Requirements
May require up to 50% travel
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 10 years strategic sourcing/procurement experience, specifically in the IT category ;
Excellent communication and client service skills;
Strong analytical, organizational, and presentation skills;
Proven leadership ability;
Bachelors degree;
Must be fluent in English.
Preferred Qualifications
Deep strategic sourcing and category management experience preferred in all of the following IT spend areas:
