Kaizen Promotion Officer
Job Description
PURPOSE:

The Kaizen Promotion Officer (KPO) is trained in the ACES methodology and responsible for the completion of projects that eliminate business problems and provide hard savings to the bottom line of the company. A KPO leads teams from across the business as part of the Company's Amazon Customer Excellence System (ACES) Initiative to improve process performance and achieve cost savings/margin improvements. The foundation of a KPO's approach to projects is the application of industry standard ACES methodologies and tools. The KPO is expected to complete 8-12 projects during a two-year, full-time assignment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Directs timely completion of 4-6 projects per year (3-5 in year one, 5-7 in year two).
? Evaluates and prioritizes assigned projects, setting timetables for completion of each major phase of project development.
? Team Development and Leadership Responsibilities:
? Creates and leads cross-functional teams in order to complete projects that support critical business goals and increase Seller satisfaction.
? Solicits input from process owners and Business Unit Functional Leads in order to set priorities, develop agendas and design objectives related to Amazon's ACES Initiative.
? Trains, mentors, and coaches team members in the use of ACES tools, approaches and techniques. Challenges process owners to create process management and measurement systems and to develop a ACES mindset at the department or process level.
? Is a change leader in the business; wins support for change in all levels of the business through the development and use of persuasive and compelling business cases that promote improved practices and processes. Ensures that proper and effective controls and reaction plans are put in place to realize long-term results.
? Act as a champion for the integration of ACES methodologies and thinking strategies into all areas of the company's business culture.
? Leverages past experience to serve as a point of contact for the ACES department on specific project initiatives and best practices.
? Assists Project Sponsors and Business Unit Functional Leads in identifying and prioritizing improvements that will increase Seller satisfaction, net income, productivity, and employee performance throughout the business unit.
? Assists Financial Analysts in identifying and creating accurate financial metrics for each project.
? Encourages the sharing of information between business unit leaders and other ACES team members, ensuring that best practices are communicated and leveraged across the organization.

? Proficient in the use of office automation tools, including Microsoft Office (specifically Excel), Project Management applications, Outlook, and Internet applications
Project Management:
? Plans and executes projects that meet cost, resource and outcome expectations
? Manages complex and/or competing priorities effectively
? Completes action items in an accurate and timely manner
Technical Competence:
? Familiar with process modeling and evaluation
Interpersonal Skills:
? Self-starter - must be able to work independently
? Effective team leadership skills - proven ability to lead team of individuals toward a specified goal
? Balances a proactive, aggressive approach to completing tasks with a disciplined application of ACES methodologies

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

? Some travel required.
? Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
? Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal.
? Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday.
? Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
