Amazon, the world's largest e-commerce retailer, is seeking a seasoned Manager-Instock management to be based in Beijing to drive our Grocery business in China. This position is responsible for managing the instock (planning) team and leading inventory management strategies to maximize customer experience, sales, margin and turns, as well as end-to-end business ownership of all supply chain processes from manufacturer to consumer. Strong understanding of data and demonstrated success in driving processes are required. The successful candidate must possess the ability to operate from a company-wide perspective and be capable to drive cross-functional and cross-business projects/initiatives.
Grocery is currently comprised of local food products, imported food products, alcohol and pets, and all the business are rapidly expanding. Joining the Amazon Grocery team means partnering with a dynamic and creative group that set a high bar for innovation and success in a fast-paced and changing environment.
We are looking for a smart, enthusiastic, hard-working and creative candidate to join our Grocery team.
Job Responsibilities:
The Manager-Instock Management role is more externally focused, with a strong strategic overview of the categories and the goals of the department.
The will lead a team and be fully responsible for:
? Forecasting and in-stock management
? Planning within the category, optimizing the purchase, in-stock, inventory, drop-shipment, distribution, and OTP on all products, made available by Amazon.com.
? Developing an overarching vendor strategy which would include individual category strategies, prioritization of vendor relationships and recommends approval of vendor contracts by the Director of Inventory Planning.
? Focuses on planning requirements, breaking down thru-put for the Fulfillment Centers, and the gross margin and revenue of each category by monitoring assiduously the inventory levels.
? Works closely with vendors on credit related issues, long term forecasting, and negotiating sourcing strategy to optimize product profitability (including co-op)
Basic Qualifications:
This position requires a minimum of a BA/BS in a quantitatively-oriented field such as Business, Finance, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, or Mathematics from a top academic program, MBA from a reputable institution will definitely be a plus.
? Exceptionally strong negotiating skills and influencing abilities in dealing with both small and large vendor partners, candidate will solid key account management background will be a plus.
? 8+ years of successful track records in buying, account management, product management, project management, operations, and/or business/management consulting.
? 5+ years of experience in building and developing a high performance team
? Strong ownership, attention to details, result-oriented, and a business curiosity/strategic viewpoint.
? Good verbal and written English skills to communicate with top level executives.
? Exceptional analytical skills and extremely adapt in picking up new software system skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
? MBA with relevant business experience (e-commerce, Retail, FMCG)
? Knowledge and previous experience in FMCG industry.
? E-commerce, distributor, manufacturer, and/or retail experience preferred.
